If we don't defend human's moral virtual bottom line, there will be a brother and sister marriage referendum next year. Why not? True love, and they naturally have baby.

    You sound very familiar :)

Some time between 4pm and 6pm, apparently RTE are going to release an exit poll from Milward Brown tomorrow morning.

I'd say the party will have many middle "love" yes voters twisting in the reality of the constitutional mess.:eek::eek::D:D:p

Does your smiley indicate a change of tune on your behalf?

What's disappointing about this is that something between 25-35% of voters have chosen to be utter pr*cks and deny rights to their fellow citizens just because they can.

I am No voter but have the good grace to accept defeat with my personal pride intact.

Slurs like the ones you cast at felow citizens who exercised their democratic right, and dared to vote against your Yes, demeans the democratic process and your own credence as a serious contributor to these discussions.

Given some of the comments recently here, if all the Yes side is going to do is insult and verbally attack the No side. Well. It will be more than unfortunate.

No doubt about it there will be a big party celebration in the Castle this afternoon.

Numbers are restricted to 2000 on a first come basis!

If you want to be there get there early.

Good idea from Minister Simon Harris and whoever else made it happen, it will be great for the tourist industry in Ireland and in particular Dublin with TV pictures being flashed around the world!

The No side utterly demeaned the democratic process with their nonsense and American paleoconservative cash.

450,000 posters for No. Yes Equality had 50,000.

As a parent, I found their fake concern for children to be particularly disgusting. These are the people who cheerled the Roman Catholic Church when it was locking up 'fallen women' and selling babies off to the highest Catholic bidder.

    This

The irony of groups like the Iona institute campaigning for "protecting children" was not lost on a lot of people. The Catholic church had a particularly bad track record in child protection.

Whereas groups like Barnardos with a great record were calling for a yes vote.

Politics in Ireland would include it if we let the nut job element could get away with it.

Angry man and rightly so. I am surprised we did not see more of this. The fact that this referendum is going to pass is fantastic but gays have been treated like crap forever. This is the first step to hopefully a country where our kids and grandkids will see their gay friends as 'normal' (which is actually a horrible word).

I think you should be more circumspect with whom you align yourself . If you do not differentiate between people with genuine concerns and those who spout risible nonsense you cannot expect to be taken seriously. Not that I think your opinion is worthy of respect but you seem to be remaining within the bounds of sanity and are entitled to your opinion.
I do celebrate the fact that religion is in decline along with its antiquated views.

Bishops and Archbishops you have just put a few more nails in the coffin of the Catholic Church.

You are probably busy now writing your sermons for tomorrows masses, one thing you can rest assured about, tomorrow there will be even less younger people in your churches to listen to what you have to say!

I have read your posts with open eyes. The catholic church encouraging bigotry since time immemorial. You claim victimhood but I see you as a perpetrator.
How do you feel about actively trying to deny people equal rights? Forgive me if I am not overly concerned for your feelings.

Now that the No side seems to have lost in such a decisive manner you can't just white wash the campaign they held.

It was steeped in bigotry, lies and fear mongering. That doesn't mean all No voters are bigots, but the No camp acted like it for sure.
