Can we ban the words "PC brigade"? Some people are fúcking pathological about getting it into every single thread they post in, it makes AH incredibly boring to read sometimes when there's post after post of no substance, just some vague dig at an amorphous entity that may or may not post in the thread at some unspecified point.

In fact, any use of the term brigade to refer to anything other than the military configuration?

It's a shorthand for 'I disagree, but am not intellectually equipped to refute your point in an adult manner'.

But doesn't that just make you the anti-brigade brigade? So you're basically refuting your own point, basically.

How is a fire brigade a military configuration anyway? Unless you're talking about the navy?

    and they're off.

    Rules, Rules

What is it with young people and their love of rules?

In my day, it was less rules we were fighting for

I think we should have a watershed after which you allow porn. Or a porn forum.

Make it clothing optional the first Friday of every month

    Better yet ...

Confine end of the road to their very own sub forum of After Hours, to prevent the ruination of threads on the original AH

No. An immediate site ban for anyone who quotes or otherwise refers to or responds to any EOTR post.

Ban any mention of garlic smuggling as a comparison to a completely unrelated act.

The opening post can have an image.

As a small start I'd delete the rule about saying "Blast them with ..." "Your M*" "Good story ...." -

I'm not sure if any others are banned but it always seemed like "New speak" for them not to be allowed.

Ban the use of the word cretin. It's cringey.

Ban the PC brigade. We all know who they are.

Church-bashing threads to the atheists forum.

Gay related threads to the gay/lesbian/what have you. forum.

Zero tolerance towards offence seekers/social justice warriors who derail light-hearted threads.

That's would reduce the standard retard lexicon by about 25% though.

More lighthearted threads like, "Which lady celebs do you reckon take it up the wrong 'un?" and less serious threads which could be moved to more serious forums!

Ban the one-worded ''Yes / No'' type responses to OP's.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 156 ✭✭Cuban Pete

Well would you look at that? The loudest moaners about the mythical "PC brigade" are the ones calling for people they disagree with to be banned.

Kinda shows up their bull for what it is.

As opposed to your own lexicon which isn't sub-standard at all then.

Perhaps I missed the attempted humour, maybe the post was meant to be ironic, but I digress.

Ban repetitive threads. Not for months maybe but it gets boring.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,828 ✭✭✭5rtytry56

Like posts containing just "yes" and "no" ban posts that just contain "what!" - thread wreckers.

I'm just going to thank this instead of figuring out what it actually means because I'm lazy and starving for lunch. :pac:

Yes, get rid of the phrase "the PC brigade" - it immediately indicates "Haven't read anything, don't want to think about anything, just want to lash out".
