Be upfront with them and you might see the deposit returned. You did say they were great to deal with.

@bpmull, what car are you hoping to get?

Megane 3 dynamique spec same as this loaner one I was due to collect it on the 1st of May but still haven't got it. It will probably be next week at this stage but I can't find one as good for the money elsewhere so I'm happy to hold out.

It was my mothers boss to make it worse so not like she can go crazy on how much it will cost.

Just go straight through the insurance with it tbh.

I've no problem with them keeping it, and I know they had other enquiries as it's not easy to get an auto accord :)

I think I was more concerned they could force me to buy it :) I reckon I was panicing, you guys have calmed me down no end :)

Thanks to you all, appreciate the kind thoughts :) Oh may be losing his job :(

Sorry to hear that Stheno, garage will hopefully be ok under the circumstances :)

Anyway heres a picture. I checked it out track rod and end, comtrol arms, arb, are all fine no play in the well either way either. So it's cosmetic damage.

    Sure that'll buff out!

Friend had a narrow escape today. I was behind him going around a narrow bend. Water on the road, he took the turn quite tight (wheels on the yellow line). There was also that sludgy mucky soppy stuff on the road that's left after the autumn leaves break down (in beside the yellow line). He goes over that, back of the car kicks out, then in, rear quarter panel slams right into a tree, car spins right around, then the front end slams into the ditch/stone/drain (slight fall with stream, trees and undergrowth). Front end completely destroyed, bumper in about 20 pieces, every light smashed, rear quarter panel buckled and bent more than I thought possible (pushed in 4/5 inches), rear chasis bent, car wouldn't even start. It's a peugeot so all the electrics were gone haywire. Lad wasn't even going fast, just bad road conditions. He and his passenger were fine thank god.

Just goes to show how a normal trip can turn bad at the blink of an eye.

What speed was he traveling at roughly?

80Km tops, second bend into his journey, hadn't even built up any speed!

Absolutely - shes perfectly entitled to do so - and by the sounds of it - the boss can have NO reason to be upset by it.

Im sure he won't love the idea of going through insurance - but he caused the damage - so can have no reason for complaint.

I want more loud out of mine at the moment. I could remove the second resonator, but I'm not sure how it would sound... could be time for a new muffler. Or intake. Someone give me money.

Can you do the same thing as me with the 328 exhaust?
It has a butterfly valve that opens at a certain rev so it is somewhat straight through.

I modded mine always open and it sounds lovely but with no drone or any mega noise.

Just the lovely 6cyl rasp :)

Sounds the same as Yamaha's "EXUP" system. Does having the valve open all the time affect the lower-down torque at all?

The 330 does have the butterfly, but the 325 doesn't. I have removed one of the resonators, which gave it a great rasp, and increase in noise. But it's just not enough any more! There is another resonator on the engine side of the exhaust which I could get removed. But I'm worried it would sound rubbish. Always hard to gauge.

I feel your only option at this point is a full stainless steel straight pipe. :pac:

Nope, not that I've noticed anyway.
One of the great things the m52 does is mountains of torque for what it is!
    From real low down!

There was a full straight through on my car when i got it.
It sounded fantastic but completely ridiculous on the road.
Swapped it to a drifter for his 328 so was made up!

Conzy had a muffler delete and that thing was ridiculous. Sounded incredible, but there's only so long you can live with that level of loud! :P

So I got the car valeted and hydrowaxed. Went to work and made damn sure I park nowhere near trees.
Came out and there I have 3 different colours of bird**** on the bonnet and they also nicely made sure to get the sunroof.
    BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A saftey feature so idiots dont step in front of your car, my FTO was the only car I ever had that had a full exhaust upgrade and you really noticed that people looked up from their phones when crossing the road and cars reversing from there driveways knew you were there.

Is it not why all motorbikes have such a loud exhaust I wonder?

Hmm? Oh yes, of course, sure. Sure look at racing bikes, they have no mirrors. If it wasn't for the brain-rending howl of the oul' Akra 'twould be way too dangerous altogether at all at all. :D

Aye, usually reserved for tractors and d-turbos :D

That's been their slogan for expressway for ages.

Must be because of the half leather seats! :pac:

New Mustang fastback with the 5.0 V8 is 62,000 on Ford Ireland website. That sounds reasonable enough. I wonder will we see many on the roads? I've seen a few M4s and the Mustang is way cheaper and cooler imo.
