    My vapebase came today 2 days after I ordered!

    Would 70mls of base and 10mls of Red Astaire be close enough? I want to make it in a half hour when the baby goes for a nap.

    I don't know what the original Red Astaire tasted like as I have only ever used the concentrate mixed with other flavours but found it quite strong so would recommend maybe using 5 or 6 ml to 70ml at first and then ad to that if you want it stronger

    I got carried away :/ I did 66ml of base and 10ml concentrate. 9.9ml would have been the recommended 15% unless my atrocious maths skills have ballsed me up. I can always add more base.

    I just go started the other day and followed J Mesterio's advice below. I put 80ml of 50/50 and 20ml of concentrate... tastes good!

    Mix:
    * 40ml of VG 0 nic
    * 15ml of PG 0 nic
    * 25ml of PG 50 nic
    * 20ml of concentrate

    Result:
    100ml of 60/40 (PG/VG) Liquid flavoured at 20% @ 12.5 nic

    Ok, I did calculate wrong. I was calculating 15% of the base rather than the finished product. So It's actually just over 13% of flavouring which isn't a big difference and the finished product is fine without steeping. The flavours that aren't menthol will hopefully get more pronounced as time goes on. This is my first time trying RA and it's quite nice. I won't be throwing my other juices away and I don't think it's my favourite ever but I'm happy with my 76mls of it which will last me a while.

    i must have gone through 2 litres of RA in the last year. when i was using it in my kayfun lites i mixed at 20%. Now i use it in a subtank mini and i've dropped to 12-15% concentrate. nic level has more than halved as well. It really depends on your setup. if your using it in a flavour chasing RDA you could probably drop the % even more. I have only had 30ml of premixed stuff and that was a year ago so i don't really know how its meant to taste. From what i gather they mix it at 15% for the pre-made stuff.

    Does anyone know if any of the B&M's in town sell concentrates?

    I can't find the post but I think when I asked this someone said that ecirette on Gardiner St does. Might be worth giving them a ring before trekking down there though.

    Cheers will do.

    Getting all my VG/PG and nic today but concentrates haven't even left England as yet. That Vapable.com crowd don't accept Parcelmotel addresses and their postage to Ireland is nearly €14 :mad: Hoping to sort something out with them or I'll go elsewhere.

    Never heard of Vapable. Vapebase had my stuff to me in 2 days for 8 euro. I was chuffed with that. Ordered on Tuesday, didn't get "parcel has shipped" notification until Wednesday which irrationally annoyed me and then it arrived on Thursday.

    I got my pgvg from vapebase.de delivered this morning by Fedex...

    Regarding the steeping,I have watched a good few YT videos,for custards especially,it normally takes up to 3 weeks,they have managed to cut that time down to 3 or 4 days,they use a battery operated milk frother for 1 minute every day,there are so many bubbles the liquid turns white & turns back again later

    That's actually where I got my PG/VG and Nic from. Great prices tbf. Ordered on Thurs. and it arrived in Dublin yesterday. I'm expecting it to be delivered today. I wasn't too impressed with their concentrates and had heard good things about 2 English websites (vapable and chefsvapour). Wish id got a couple off them now!

    Just noticed chefsvapour stock a range of Mount Baker concentrates. That may interest some on here.

    I get my Mom and Pops concentrates from Leisure Liquids and they do all the T-Juice stuff to, €5 delivery and it takes 2-4 day to get here.

    Are VapeBase VG/PG good quality, those prices are amazing

    I lived in England for years and posting stuff abroad is crazy money over there. I only ordered a sample pack of flavours because the descriptions were crap. Flavourart.biz was recommended to me on here and I'm psychic myself up to do an order on there. They have "flavour wizards" that probably require a bit more thought which is why I haven't ordered yet.

    I ordered with Chefsvapour in the end. They've a huge selection as well. Hopefully they'll post it to parcel motel.

    Annoying when ive everything else sitting there ready to go :mad:

    Update on the above post.....

    My order has been shipped this afternoon! Used my parcel motel address as direct postage to Ireland was around €14 as opposed to less than half of that using standard uk postage and Parcel Motel.

    Ordered 11 concentrates and load of syringes etc. Just need to find space for everything now.

    I have a corner of the kitchen. The missus doesn't approve :(

    I'm thinking of moving down the country for more space for vape gear. If the kids complain about the commute to school I'll just lie and say in my day we walked that far barefoot.

    That's as good a reason as any!!! :)

    We've one of those Shomera rooms out of back so I reckon that'll be my mixing spot. Less dusty and away from the house.

    Im off to buy some rubber gloves at lunchtime, praying parcelmotel send me a txt before I cycle home.

    Need to mix up another batch of RA. Last one was probably a bit too strong flavour wise @20% but also I think I used too much VG.

    Anyone know what the ratio is on the shop bought variety?

    T-juice recommend mixing at 15% which I find is good for me in a 70vg/30pg mix.
    They use 15% in their own juices but the ratio is 70pg/30vg.

    Ah ok cheers, makes sense.

    I think I'll try 60pg/40vg this time around. Gona make 100ml as well. I need it to work in a couple of my sh*ttier tanks which I reckon would struggle with a high VG based juice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 935 ✭✭✭jousting with chairs

    Yeah, some tanks find it hard to wick with vg heavy juice, I'd try a small mix with the higher pg first as it adds a lot of throat hit and you could find it a bit harsh.

    Good point actually. It would be a right pain to be stuck with 100ml of it!!

    Although thankfully im down to 3mg Nic as well.

    Quick question lads. I made some of this for the missus and there's a strong whiff of something similar to petrol from it, will this smell go away after some steeping? First time DIY'er btw.

    Thanks

    Give it a good shake then leave it uncovered for a few hours, the should help it. I've never gotten a petrol smell from it though, other mixes I've done have had a bit of a chemical smell and leaving them uncovered for a few hours has helped.

    Thanks for the reply and also for making the thread, hopefully that will do the trick.

    No bother, hopefully that will work, if not shake again and you could try leaving it uncovered overnight.

    I wouldnt describe it as petrol, but after vaping this in a rotation steadily for a few months I've just mixed some from a new order and there's a really unpleasant smell from both the bottle of concentrate and the mixed stuff. It has an odd taste too. Not sure what the story is, might try leaving the caps off and checking for improvement.

    Sounds like a bad batch of concentrate so, my last order with ezsmoke was 2-3 weeks ago and both 30ml bottles were fine.
    It might be worth contacting the vendor to see if there we a problem with the last batch.
