Up at 0500 and out the gap on the bike at 0530.

Absolutely stunning morning for a cycle. Took 2:22 minutes, so iv knocked off 68 minutes from the last time I cycled in.

I felt as strong as 6 kittens sellotaped together, now that's strong!

Absolutely delighted, I tells ya, there's some power in porridge!

A spoke on my rear wheel snapped as I came in the gate, wheel won't turn properly now, lucky I got in.

Just as well that I'm picking my new bike up at the weekend.

    Hot chocolate time! Boo yeah!

Nice :) No, for shame, usually only when the weather is good. I am too lightweight - and not in a good way :) I can appreciate a good bike though, well wear :)

Got my knee taped up this morning. 8km at lunch in 40:33.

    Happy enough with that.

F*ck you anyway. You kept doing 8km runs and an email popped up in my inbox about an 8km run so I signed up for it and instantly regretted it.

Ha brilliant! Il start running 10km at lunch, that will learn ya! :)

Good man for signing up. I always sign up and then roll my eyes at myself and say "fcuking state of ya, what are ya doing? Did someone steal your couch or something?"

What one are you doing Alf?

    Terenure 5 mile.

It's handy. It will also be the first time I've run in 2015. Probably.

I don't really envisage getting in any runs betyween now and then. Maybe one 5k at most.

Still, I think I should be capable of 40 mins.

Ah cool, that will be a good time without any training.....cnut! :) fit bastard!

There may be a disconnect between what I think I'm capable of and what I'm capable of...

I can do up to 10k but ask me to do more and I'll tell you to ask my arse.

I made a show of myself trying that last year lol

Organisers are incredibly lovely though and loads of people were standing out to wave at us

Think I remember that now. One of those days, IIRC.

Samsung 10km in 51.08.....49:56 on the watch though. Strange.

Happy enough considering how twisty and cramped the course is at times.

Looks great with all the tops though.

    Nice!

Agreed on the crampage though. Especially towards the last 3-4km. A good race aside from that. The novelty value and cool top help on that front.

No but I don't think the route is all that different from 2 years ago when I did it. Was surprised there weren't more trips and falls in some places.

Nah it's the same poxy route, maybe with a small variation. I did it last year too, brutal again.

    Yeah, it's a H&S nightmare that course!

Not mad about the colour tbh....it's going to get.fcuked.up!

The white bar tape will be black after one cycle :)

    Love it though!

16km cycle this morning (was meant to be 60km but the bike isn't adjusted right yet....that's my excuse)

    Short cycle tonight.

    Nice easy 5km run

    Short cycle home.

    Tea and toast!

No harm getting a bike fitting if you're going to be covering a lot of ground on the bike.

Yeah there's a guy in Wicklow that's meant to be the tits at bike fits. I'm going to see if he can see me before my big race.

    Cheers man!

In other news. There's was a 4km charity fun run in work today. Knee was stable enough so I pushed it a little bit. Came 8th out of 56. Not all were runners though. Did it in 18:49, happy enough.

Hanging around for a cup of soup after it and this absolute fcuktard gave me a knee to the back of my bad knee. He's the guy who gave me his Belfast marathon place and knew full well my knee was not right.

Anyway, went down like an enthusiastic choir boy in front of a load of people, including a General, soup all over me too.

    Fcuk

I'm not gonna lie though...its a pretty funny read. Like a scene from Carry On Truffling
