Hope you're happy with whatever you finally settled on.

She's a bit down on 200 brake :) but still a lot quicker than some of the yokes I test drove.

If you wanna keep it to yourself that's cool just don't start a 'guess' thread. Such an irritating form of thanks whoring.

Ah Ye I won't be starting any of them threads anyway. Id just rather keep it to myself until I'm collecting it and everything is sorted out.

Anyway it's obviously going to be an e46 you know I have to go with the trend that's set at this stage :)

Yep I wouldn't mind but she was going on about how much Id be saving because my parents have house insurance with them. Anyway Liberty are currently the cheapest and they have breakdown assist windscreen cover comprehensive cover and all that. I'm going to ring the broker my parents use for their insurance too and get a price. Anyone recommend other companies to ring for younger drivers I know it varies person to person but any recommendations.

I've been with Aviva since I started driving and nobody ever beats their renewal offers to me. Drive any car is a great extra to have too, with no age or engine size limitations.

Didn't you say you're between Kilkenny and Cork? Insure it with your Kilkenny address. My insurance was €300 cheaper by just changing to my Kilkenny address.

Yep Id use the kilkenny one anyway as that's where the car is the majority of the time. I'll try aviva and report back :)

Rang aviva they said they could quote me but Id have to go and do an ignition driving course and all that. So didnt bother getting a quote as I just need insurance and work 12 hour day shifts so trying to get time to do it before I collect the car would be impossible. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Anyone any other suggestions ?

Could try hooper dolan in Waterford. They were the cheapest for me for a few years until I got the ST then they werent interested anymore!

Zurich won't quote me car is too powerful I wish :pac:

You have to be 23 with 5 years named experience that's pure rediculous standard to meet thank god for Liberty anyway.

That's mad, never had to do anything like that! Suppose there's 3 years between us, probably only for younger drivers. When I was 21 I had a VTI Civic insured with them without that lark.

I was given Aaran Insurance and Campion as suggestions before when I was asking here. Campion almost matched Aviva but then told me I wouldn't be worth their time and said good luck to me!

I find axa fairly good, at 21 I had a legacy b4 insured with them for about 1k, 3 years NCB at that stage and I live in the sticks. They did however throw there toys out of the pram when I changed it for a mk4 golf GTI as it was a fasht car, despite going from 280bhp to 150 lol.

I still can't believe Zurich your one was just like that car is a bit too new (it's a long way of new) and you would need 5 years no claims so stupid really I mean I've never made a claim how risky could I be anyway not too bothered I'm happy enough with liberty's quote so I mean if I can get one to beat it great if I cant I cant. If Liberty hadn't quoted me Id be fairly sh!tting it now though.

Do you still have the E60 as well?

One unusual thing I noticed was that for all the cars I test drove not a single one had the fuel light on I actually thought it was a little weird not saying any had a full tanks of fuel but most were 1/8-1/4 full. Just compared to a few years ago every car you would ever test drive would never have a drain of fuel in it gauge sitting at 0 or maybe it's just me.

Not one for the dashcam thread, but some spotted nice machines yesterday morning north of Newry.
Look at the size of the Phantom compared to a 206 it's overtaking. :D

    Nice noise at 1:00. :D

Do the test, I did it last September when getting my insurance with them, brought it down a fair whack from other insurers! It's piss easy too!

    It's also free!

My car ran out of fuel as the salesman drove it across the yard, was in the UK mind... The was after a plume of smoke poured out of the bonnet on the test drive :D and the airbag warning light came on... Still bought it, cause I really wanted it :o

I always thought it was kind of standard procedure just for lights to be on in all of the cars. Where as now it's like they were making sure there was diesel/ petrol in them. Kind of good really meant I could drive the ones I liked on a bit longer without worrying about running out of fuel.

Actually on another note do salesmen normally let you off on your own during test drives only one salesman came with me in one garage rest just handed me the keys and said work away couldn't care less.

If you arrived on to the garage in your own car then they'd probably let you off on your own (if you dont come back then they have your car).

I went looking at an Audi last week and the salesman gave me the key before we even said hello. When it was time to test drive it, I asked him was he coming (as I didnt know the area too well) and he insisted I went by myself as he thought I'd make up my mind better!

I genuinely can't remember the last time I've taken a bus. It must be easily 4/5 years at this stage I'd say!

About the same for me. If anyone is going to Westport tomorrow, it would spare me the pain. :P
