Maybe if he drank less and looked after himself he wouldn't have had this very convenient cancer scare? Why is this only coming out now? I say it is more bull from a total sh1t who attacked a work colleague because he is a bad drunk!

A lump on his tongue that according to his doctor was probably cancer???

What kind of doctor did he go see? Doctor zivago or doctor Doolittle? No real doctor will ever tell a!patient that something as random as a lump on their tongue that could be caused by any number of bites cysts boils or even spicy food was cancer and that they should get it checked out!

    What an absolute boffoon!
Doctors tend to know the difference between bites, boils and tumors. They always want to stress the importance of getting possible tumors seen to as soon as possible. It could be just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to more serious cancers.

Why is it coming out now? I'd expect you'd have the exact same level of contempt no matter when it came out.

Bringing up cancer as a way to garner public sympathy is right out of the Jordan/ Kerry Katona school of PR.

Totally agree Clarkson would be the very person who would lambast others in his paper articles that there is no excuse for bad behaviour and being an arse no matter what their circumstances.

Surely we should all be making jokes about cancer right now, because that's what good old Jezza would want.

    Anyone could have cancer.
    He doesn't have cancer.
I know people who have had cancer.
I know people who have had cancer and died.
I know people who have had cancer and survived.
I know people who found a lump that turned out to be not cancer.

None of the above, at any point, appeared to get hammered and punch someone.
Nor did any of them, in my memory, use their illness or concern about same, as an excuse to be an @sshole.

But its great that your attention seeking little mind thinks it's an excuse and attempts to use expectations of compassion to expect to see the diva that Clarkson was on that evening somehow be understood.

Everyone has bad times, most cope with it with a measure of dignity.
Sadly on that occasion he conducted himself with no dignity at all.
On the other hand, since the event all parties appeared to be quite dignified in their handling of the situation.
The only people that let Clarkson down now are blowhards and attention seekers who make fools of themselves on threads like this.

He got the all-clear. Before the hotel incident, I understand. Chances are it was mentioned in passing along with all the other things it could possibly be and has been focussed on.

Neither did Clarky boy. Who kept it all secret and took the stick like a man until an appropriate time to speak of the scare.

Attack the post, not the poster  Funny how the anti-Clarkson brigade need a constant reminder of manners.

Yes Clarkson did the right thing in letting the bosses know what happened after etc and yes it's a pity the anti-Clarkson brigade come across so poorly.

Were you there? This is typical of the posting strategy of the anti-Clarkson brigade since the beginning of the thread. Jump on a bandwagon, regardless of facts.

Not sure what "brigade" you imagine yourself to be in, but even Clarkson himself isn't in it.
And seeing as you and one or two others insist on bringing this thread back to life with regular updates on how maligned you think Jeremy is, I think the poster does come in for some stick, as well as the post.
Seeing as you are generalising everyone who doesn't agree with you as an "anti clarkson brigade", you might look to yourself there.

And Clarkson didn't use his investigations into cancer as an excuse for his behaviour, so why would people try to do that as a defence on his behalf?

A man would have apologised immediately for his actions and mentioned a recent cancer scare as mitigation and hope for some understanding from reasonable people.

Clarkson is far from a man, just a boorish ape who got drunk at work and assaulted a colleague and lost his job who then tries to explain it all away by making up some unbelievable tale of a lump on his tongue! what a plonker!

Clarkson apologised immediately, tried, several times. Oisin would not accept it. Get your facts straight.

Then he went and basically made sh1t of the apology on twitter, some sincerity there! he was always losing his job though but might have kept a bit of dignity and respect of people if he had been a man about it.

Careful now! Comparing Clarkson to Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot is one thing but comparing him to those two "things" is crossing the line! I simply cannot conceive of an insult (and I can conceive of a great many insults) for those yokes, words fail me and that doesn't happen often.
If I ever subscribed to the notion of lizard or reptilian people, those two would be the first whose face I'd peel off to see if they're human underneath.
I've enjoyed arguing with you, but that is going too far! ;)

Are we rewriting events to suit points of view?
When was Oisin bound to accept apologies?
He was assaulted while working, and there was a process to go through.
Any apology was a seperate issue.
He would have been instructed to have no contact with the other party until the matter was dealt with, and this would have been for the protection of both.
FFS, stop flogging the horse, it's dead and has been for some time.

Where did I say Oisin is bound to accept apologies? The poster said Clarskon should've apologised and I pointed out that he did.

Really, what's with the anti-Clarkson brigade and their inability to read plain text without jumping to inaccurate conclusions
