    Nah Meno,

Bit the bullet on the cost, I'd hate to be in the middle of that and not running, I'd be insufferable and ****e company.

Q, was really decent and offered to have me royally looked after for the weekend, I was tempted (thanks Q much appreciated) but my heart wouldn't be in it.

I'm putting it behind me and once I get the results I'll be planning my next assault on your PB :)

    TbL

Yeah you are probably right, though you could have sold your number for a small fortune :p

Anyway I wouldn't have counted your PB from it given that it's a downhill point to point ;) Better to set your PB on a legit course like London!!

Tough break - the miles are still in the bank, be sensible with the recovery and come back stronger.

Well that' pissed me right off, cant imagine how you feel. As they say no training is wasted but that is a real sickener. Is there a chance your scan could come back negative?

Hopefully you get back out there soon enough!

Looking on the bright side I will have 2 wheelchairs one for each leg on the flight home. As said before you still have a good training block in the legs ready to cash in on.

    Tnx Adrian (and everyone else),

Yes it could come back negative and if I was a betting man I'd say I don't have a stress fracture, but the foot isn't right and the physio said that if wasn't a stress fracture we could arrange to have some injection (steroid I think) done to bring down the inflammation. Tbh I didn't really like the sound of that and Coach said he wouldn't be in favour of it either, and in any event I'd have had to get another flight as I won't get the results before I was due to depart.

I'm terribly sorry you have decided not to do Boston but better to err on the side of caution and not risk further injury.

Bit of a comedy of errors today!

Got a text earlier to tell me no stress fracture. Delighted. Making plans to pb in Cork!

Got a call a while later to say that a second reading showed a stress fracture!

Hopefully seeing a consultant early next week.

So fcuking unlucky, so near yet so far. Really disappointed for you.

Can you put your finger when it happened (apologies if I missed this on your log)? Any idea how long you will be out for?

    Tnx T,

Still waiting for the written report so I don't even know exactly where the fracture is, if it confirmed as a metatarsal head stress fracture I've no idea, if it's on the top of the foot, the only thing I can think of is that I hurt it playing football with the young lad!

I think a stress fracture of the foot takes about 6-8 weeks to heal.

Might be joining Career Move in the pool, hope she's done a resuscitation course :)

Sorry to hear TbL. Been lurking here for ages, I'd be raging. Time is the best healer, or so they say. You'll bounce back.
