    lol. Same here.

Aye , it can be tricky or unintuitive at the start , the trick is to add a folder at the start and after that make sure anything you drop into the folder is correctly named ( which they usually are tbf ) . I have it running on the Ouya with a HD connected to it and then just two folders on the HD , one for movies and one for TV series .

It really is worth the effort to google or watch a youtube video on how to set it up .

See that's the thing, it's not meat to be a simple media player, there's a learning curve. If you're not willing to put in the time then it's not for you

There are plenty of guides, it's just that it's so complex with so many configuable options everyone uses it differently. The community design it the way they want with the options they need

Xbmc is generally terrible, works one day doesn't work the next.

Will check out that app though!

XBMC is absolutely dire on Android whenever I try it, and I would consider myself an advanced user, been using it for years since it was only on the original Xbox after modding it. Whatever you're doing in it there will always be an app that does it better for less battery drain.

XBMC / Kodi is absolutely brilliant on Android. I've been using it on a TV box for about a year now. I wouldn't really bother with it on my phone / tablet as there are other apps that work fine. I installed it on my tablet and it worked but it's not really designed for a touch interface. Some buttons were a bit fiddly to press. It's better with a remote. Maybe there are themes you can install for a tablet / phone but while the other apps (that Boards doesn't like us mentioning) work OK I'll stick with them.
So for a TV box it's brilliant.

    Install the app.

Watch videos like this and just follow the instructions. Nothing mystical about it at all.

The forums can be a bit complicated but following a guy on Youtube is pretty simple.
Joenobody does good tutorials as does vdubt25.

There are loads of plugins but once you find a couple of good ones that's good enough for me.

I use Genesis about 90% of the time then NaviX, then 1Channel, there's another one called the Mutts Nuts which is very fast but not updated so often. They're all the plugins installed on mine. For live TV I've never found a reliable provider. They'll work one day and not the next. So I don't bother with them anymore.

Eh, Kodi is the new name for XBMC. They dropped the name at the last release to allow them to trademark it, something that they could never do with the XBMC (XBOX media centre) name

I found it easier to set it up on my pc first and then later on on a raspberry Pi and Ouya . On the pc you can switch back and forth from a tutorial . It does seem really overly complicated but you can get to just play your movies and keep track of them quick enough . Adding all the rest of the stuff isn't really necessary .

Anyone know a good app on Android for cutting stuff out of photos and placing them in another photo? Something like faceover on ios

I currently use plex on the pc with a app on my phone and cast to my tv with chromecast. Can this be done with kodi?

I'm after something that I can run on maybe a raspberry with an external drive on the network so my flatmates can stream video to the chromecast on the tv. Plex can do this so long as my pc is on but you need to buy the android app

Not 100% but I'm sure I used an app called skitch to do this a few months ago

There is a PLEXBMC addon if that's any help. XBMC/Kodi doesn't work the same way as Plex, as in media is transcoded on the server and streamed to the remote app the way Plex works. They're both trying to do different things

If you going to use Kodi (XBMC) on a small device then I suggest changing skin as the default 'out of the box' one is not really made for sub 10''.

In the short term you can just jump into Settings and then Appearance, now select Skin and select Re-Touched.

It's a little better for small screens and sure if its not your thing they have many more under the 'Get more' link on that page.

Remember! not all skins were made with your touchscreen in mind so odd things can happen on some...

Ah the joys of modding Kodi...

If you have Kodi then get an app called Yatse. You can play media from your phone on the Kodi receiver. Or you can send the Kodi box links from apps like YouTube and show box.

Its not the same as casting but similar.

Plus, if you buy the paid version of Yatse you can stream content from Kodi to your Android device. It's worth buying, one of the best, most polished and supported apps on the market

Any reccomendations for a good camera app? I have the stock google camera installed on my Galaxy S4, but don't find it much good.

Is there an APK for the Samsung Camera app available by any chance?

Open camera is what I've started using with my Xperia z3 as the built in camera app does some really bad processing

Google Handwriting. Surprisingly good. Not sure it'll budge me from swiftkey, but it's fun to mess about with.

Would probably work better with some sort of stylus (and probably better on a tablet).

Brilliant, it's a great timesaver. And the ability to press-and-hold the balloons and drag them to the X to get rid of them is very convenient.

Wish Amazon could push an app to your phone automatically when you click on it in the browser like Google Play does.
