Does anyone know, is there a way to change the channel numbers. I updated the box over the air via network cable. However, I am in the process of sorting out the channel numbers after the update, but I noticed if you delete or move a channel they leave a gap, for example if i delete channel 9-20 the other's don't take over their numbers like they did previously, so now there are huge gaps up through the EPG.

    Any ideas?

Thanks... yea Very strange, even when I returned RTE 1 and moved it, there was two RTE 1's at position 001, don't fancy deleting and rescanning. So i'll just leave it I think

EDIT: Don't tune in terrestrial channels before sat channels to avoid this problem.

In the system setup menu select other and switch the LCN (Logical Channel Number) to off

As Nowso says, messing with the firmware or channel list on any of these boxes can cause problems and cause the box to need reflashing.

That warning given, here is the full V1.26B7* patched firmware with full channel list categorised General, Movies, Doc, etc.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/n70h02mhjgf45vu/backup.abs?dl=0

    File is "backup.abs"

This is for the Ariva 250 ONLY. Use at your own risk!!!!!

I tried this list on a 250 and the satellite channels are perfect but terrestrial channels wont scan for some reason?
Anyway to use this channel list on patched firmware before v1.26B7?
    Thanks

Have you tried deleting the DVB-T Channels from the "All Channels" list and then doing an Automatic Scan (or manual scan if you know your local frequencies)?

I haven't heard of any problem scanning the terrestrial channels before.

Just realised its a 252, will have to do my own scan and use the channel editor.
    Cheers

You're lucky it didn't come up with the ASH symbol and need reflashing!

With the latest firmware I have noticed, on all satellite channels you get "no information" on the pop up epg info which before loaded information after a few seconds, unless you press the info button twice, anyone notice this, is there a fix does anyone know, if you go into the guide it will show the information but not on the popup menu.

Yes that does work, but after a few hours it goes back to "no information". Better than nothing. Thanks

Maybe step back to the previous firmware version if this wasn't an issue for you before. As mentioned, the reboot should sort it for a long period. My 250 never does this but I have noticed it on another Ariva box but a reboot sorts it for weeks on end.

I did a rescan yesterday evening but it actually did nothing. Still a blank screen. Can I add it in manually on the ariva?

Yes, Menu> Installation > TP List> then add the new TP using the settings in my earlier post. Do a scan on this TP and the channels should be added to your "All channels" list.

My sister has an Ariva 250 (based on my recommendation 2 years ago...)

I do not live at home so I am doing this remotely...

We upgraded to the newest 1.27B3 patched firmware. The aerial is pointed at Clermont Carn.

We now get HD RTE but only SD UK channels. Any ideas?

    Thanks
    James

Try a satellite search selecting FTA only , you may have to select astra 2 and eurobird in the satellite list, press ok and you should see a "heart" symbol next to the satellite . Sounds like you may be receiving only terrestrial channels .

Yes I am only on terrestrial. The dish is no more. Are the UK channels from Clermont Carn only SD? If so can I pickup HD UK channels from the Divis transmitter?

English freeview hd channels are not available on the 250 you needs a dvb t2 box to get them ie the 252

they are some that are not available in every area either

u must be already picking up the Divis as Claremont only has saorview it does have utv ireland

I'd try and get your dish back up and running unless you want to invest in a newer combo with T2 tuner and assuming that Freeview HD is available to you .
