If people really do want to 'please think of the children' then the ispcc, an organisation which exists to look after the best interests of children, with no political or religious agenda, has come out on favour of same sex marriage. I know who I'd rather pay attention to.

yes but he should be allowed to be heard even though he is a far right catholic headbanger

He has plenty of media coverage. Iona must be one of the best connected organisations in the country media access wise. Sick of hearing him whinge about the no voice not being heard in his newspaper column on the radio and on tv.

Can anyone summarise this for someone who doesn't fancy sitting through half and hour of this idiot? I get the feeling it's along the lines of "Gays are icky, blah, blah, against god, blah, blah, *Helen Lovejoy impression*".

Picture earthquakes and devils burning and stabbing everyone followed by force gay conversion. Thats what you'll wake up to one May 23rd if it passes.

You are making the mistake of thinking they actually care about children.

Are they the ones that took kids from their mothers and sold them while using the mothers as slave labour? The ones whos employees raped and abused kids in relatively high numbers for decades?

I know one side of the debate has a history of that, just cant remember which...........

They care about the actual welfare of children a lot more than iona or quinn anyway.

I meant the people who claim its about the children, not the ISPCC. Iona only care about forcing catholic beliefs on everyone.

I watched the first three minutes and learned something very important. Those of us voting yes need to make sure to actually go and vote and not presume the yes vote will win because everyone else is going to go and vote. That's the only way I can see this being won by the no side.

    I Said Traditionally.

Traditionally women had to give up their careers after they got married.

Traditionally children used to kill wrens and then parade the body around as they danced for money.

According to biblical tradition marriage can be between a man and the woman he's bought from her father after he raped her.

Tradition isn't always a good thing.

So why shouldn't we change 'traditional' marriage if we want to? Tradition is no reason to keep doing things.

Iona only care about children before they are born or in very abstract terms. You never hear them discussing issues that are relevant to children such as bullying, poverty etc.

    So what's your point?

Gay couples shouldn't be allowed to adopt IMO.

They should be afforded the right to marry absolutely, but It would be unfair on the child to have to cope with the stigma.

My brother's wife's a ginger. Should I tell them not to have kids so that their children don't have to cope with the stigma.

Would not worry, Ginger can skip and even be present in children of parents with no history. :pac:

I would say having gay parents would be harder to live with.

No one will be forcing any religious organisations to perform same sex weddings though.

Oddly enough if they dont offer SSM then marriage still has the exact same "definition" within the church.

Some religious people dont even view people outside their church as actually married so Im not sure what their problem is.

I don't know... She's well ginger and he's a four eyed nerd. Plenty of ammo there. Definitely going to tell them not to procreate.

Here's something weird someone said to me. It'll only be a stigma if we as a society allow it. They were obviously overdosing on crazy pills though.
