I'm just ashamed it was a paddy, making a show of us as usual in Britain

No wonder top gear is loved in self hating Ireland.
At least it wasn't a ginger haired tosser, with some obvious ginger(irish) genes.

May could possibly have been referring to the lack of hot food being served as the small incident that could have been resolved easily, rather than Clarkson going off on one.

May isn't a stupid man, and knows quite well that the Top Gear™ product IS Clarkson, May and Hammond. He knows that himself and Hammond (and whoever they get to replace Clarkson) won't have the "charisma" to carry it off, in it's current format.

May changed his Twitter Bio to state that he is a former Presenter..

There is one message that we have learned in this debacle. That message would be that no-one who go to work everyday would never consider themselves immune from complying with anti Bullying & Harassment rules in the workplace. People in work have to accept personal responsibility for their actions. And unfortunately; Clarkson is equal to that rule as well.

Although with that being said whatever action is ensued after this debacle; I would like to see the three guys continue on a new show with a different broadcaster that relates to their passion. That passion is cars. Those three guys in a way all have one thing in common; they act like a family. If they go with a new show; It will be great to have all three back working again.

20 minutes of verbal and racial abuse and a 30 second physical assault according to the news just now, Clarkson is a wanker, nobody should have to put up with that.

I hope the guy sues him.

The guy is receiving death threats on Twitter now. Some people are pretty disgusting.

I feel sorry for Tymon. He worked on the show for 10 years and clearly loved it and thought very highly of Clarkson. And now because of that ape's behavior he's not only out of a job but also a figure of hate.

If Clarkson had any class he'd make a statement and tell fans not to blame it on the producer.

Not throw a hissy fit over a little scuffle.

The guy checked himself into an A&E over a swolen lip and was "witholding" legal action pending a BBC review. AKA, sack him or i'll sue you.

It's ridiculous pc/compo culture in action, and tymons failure to do his job should have been accounted for.

    Dry your eyes

    If Clarkson had any class...

Clarkson has class alright.. Tory boy elitist class who felt like he could thrash a subordinate from atop his steed without consequence.

    What a çunt.

No he isn't, where did you get that idea. He'll just get moved to Gardeners World/Cake Challenge/Hosteling with Chris Eubank

As I wrote earlier in this thread the BBC had no other choice but to take this course of action. Clarkson can't act with impunity no matter how powerful he thinks he is.

I was listening to a phone in on BBC5 Live earlier and honestly some of the clowns ringing in left me shaking my head.

He really should do this but I'm not holding out much hope of it.

Its a pity we live in a word of compliance officers and health and safety. Little twerps with clipboards who undermine the talent, chase the talent away and you don't have any programmes.

The talent shouldn't go around hitting people, then, should they?

Oisin had one job to do.

I presume this is a joke, but for avoidance of doubt, it should be pointed out that the producer's job is to produce the programme.

Agreed this is not right I like top gear I like clarkson but what he did was wrong the BBC had to sack him but I do believe top gear won't be the same I reckon may will go aswell now possibly Hammond aswell if an offer came I'd say it's the end of top gear

The producer doesn't deserve the pure abuse he's getting he did Notting wrong really

So how would you feel if someone roughed you up at work?

I doubt it and if he or anyone else that was involved did feel the BBC were on a crusade over a small incident, then why doesn't he or anyone else just come out and say precisely what did happen?

I mean if this was exaggerated to bump Clarkson off, it would be easy to dispute. There were plenty of witnesses including the other two, the rest of the crew, the staff and guests of the hotel (and the casualty staff who treated the producer). It's a long list of people who could step forward and call shenanigans on the Beeb. But nobody has.

How could they speak out against a decision that hadn't been made yet. The statement was just released today. The decision arrived at, just today. Give those involved time to react for heaven sake.
Clarkson made the initial report himself..

You keep saying that as if it backs up your side of the argument, it doesn't. He felt what occurred needed reporting and so he reported it. If anything, the fact that no member of staff reported Jeremy first, backs up what I am suggesting is likely to have occurred, not you. Had this been an all out serious unprovoked assault, as you seem to believe, then why did no member of staff report Clarkson first? Heck, if it's as serious as they are making out, why were the police not called.
As I also pointed out, purely from a financial position the crew, the other two, even Oisin, the magazine staff, the live show crew etc would have everything to gain and nothing to lose by telling the "whole story", hell, even by hanging the junior producer out to dry by closing ranks. Yet, again nobody has.

Again, the decision has just been made and everyone involved would have wanted to give the BBC room to investigate the matter and come to the conclusions. Now that they have done, I'm sure we will begin to hear whether or not those involved feel the BBC have overreacted or not. I'm not sure why you seem to think that would, or could, have happened already.

Again, the fact that neither Oisin or any other member of the crew reported Clarkson, or called the police suggests that this was not just a case of Clarkson lamping the guy for passing on information about the hotel's inability to provide hot food.

Clarkson acted like a cúnt. This is entirely his own making. Stop blaming the victim.

He went to A&E to get an injury checked out. What's the harm in that?

Can you elaborate on this? The boys were late because they were drinking elsewhere. He stuck around to greet them when everyone else had retired for the night. At what task did he fail?

If you work for a company like the bbc and you get punched in the face in work, then you will have to go to get it assessed by a professional. Get a clue and at least image you understood how a serious business works. Jaysus...
