Yes it is those types of drivers that cause all the accidents. if they want to drive slow so be it but do not get annoyed and speed up when somebody is trying to pass. Also noccy I have a solution for you. buy a more powerfull car. :pac::D

I agree wholly with this, although you still get people trying to keep up with you, while you laugh blissfully at their meagre attempts :pac:

Yeah, you find this is less of a problem when you've got more power than they do. :pac:

Cant stand it when someone is trying to keep up with you when your driving, especially on the motorway! :pac:

But, if someone does manage to pass you out, I love driving up beside them at the next set of traffic lights.. :D:D

Next year kids, I hope to jump up in the horsies!! Once passed them two people in Galway (disclaimer: not all Galway people are eejits or whatever I called them, Noccy_Mondy is an equal opportunities name caller :P) I came upon a neighbour in his car. Both of us cruised home in our mini convoy, undisturbed and had the road to ourselves.

The guy is either a hugely naive hypocrite or he's a troll.

Bloody hell, I see someone clearly holds grudge against another poster going against the political whip that a certain few posters feel they need to abide by on here
Let me remind you again, this is Boards.ie a discussion forum, not a political party.

The OP blames the other driver for him having to accelerate into a dangerous situation, did the OP ever think of just leaving the driver do whatever he was at and pull back, and overtake him when you are certain you can do so safely even if he happens to accelerate again.

And by the way, this isn't me on my high horse, it's just highlighting the reality that situations such as OP described can and have ended in fatalities if not serious injuries.

Seriously some posters on here should really escape from this sheep flok mentality, not every poster with a different viewpoint is a troll or naive, get a grip!

Generally i don't get tailgated as most people back off my bumper or become deaf and abit mad

This is the last I'm going to say on this matter. I do entirely, 110% blame the other driver for forcing me to accelerate to complete my manoeuvre. There was no dangerous situation about it. I was on a straight stretch on both occasions, could see for at least a mile ahead of me on both occasions. IF you read my initial post instead of becoming a keyboard warrior ready to attack, I said the broken white line changed into a hatched section, whoms sole purpose was to provide an area for cars turning into a road on the right to slot into. Nothing dangerous, no one was going to die, everyone can breath, we are all going to live, no ones life was in danger, all that we had was an ignorant human. Now it appears that we have two......

But if it turned into a solid brick wall, it could have been fatal! or worse! Lucky escape there. You never know what those damn lines are going to do.

Good man, you really redeemed yourself there.

Now, run off and go cry to Mammy for what that bold taxi driver and as you say those "Galway pr**ks" made you do!

The guy accelerated just to make it harder to be overtaken, what else could he have done ?

I'd rather have a child minded pleab like that behind me tbh

Anyway it is a safe road to overtake on. Hard shoulder on both sides as well.

Out, well past and back in before the f**kers even think about flooring it, guaranteed to leave them seething with impotent rage...

Then you meet another one of them 2 miles up the road. Still, there's some people you'd rather get away if it's safe to go - you know the ones, just kinda weird on the road - speeding up, slowing down randomly with no connection to speed limits or anything that's going on in the real world.

    >60 in a 100 zone

Are you suggesting he stop and take a nap?
Honestly, would you think before you type?

I don't hold a grudge, I was highlighting a fact that you are very hypocritical in this instance. Would you not agree?

Why should the OP have to worry about someone speeding up and try not to let them pass safely in an area that is safe to pass in?
I have a sneeking suspicion that you could be one of the drivers that do this sort of thing.

And honestly, I've been on boards for 7 years, I know what it is and how it works and I can spot a ****poster a mile off.

Yep, this is the spot where I apparently was reckless.

I had one of the latter on my drive home tonight. He couldn't decide whether he wanted to be in the over taking lane or not.
We were the only two cars on the stretch, he was crawling so I tried to over take but bam, into the over taking lane and brakes heavily. Fair enough says I, I'll pull back in and wait to see what he does... Glides back into the driving lane with no indication, a few seconds later he's back indicating towards the over taking lane, I drop to 3rd and I swiftly undertake to avoid ending up with my bumper inside this guys back window.

    You have to wonder.

How about this for a topic, I'm going mad to get cycling again. :pac:
I haven't touched my bike in 6 weeks thanks to my accident.

I've been bold and did the odd bit of kicking, wrestling and leg weights down at my MMA club but I'm cracking up without some real structures training!

Got my alloy straightened and a new tyre put on it yesterday.
Cost me €110 - €25 to straighten the alloy and €85 for the tyre.
Alot of people have said I got ripped off - have I?

I thought it was a decent price to straighten the alloy as it did bend a bit, and the tyre was a decent one (toyo as far as I can remember)?

Probably the kind of people who think *****istencys are a great brand of tyre because that's what all the taxi drivers use.

25 to fit balance a tyre and straighten it is a great price.

That seems very reasonable. As i often spent over a 100 on a tyre.

How is your arm anyway. If I remember correctly it was quite a break. Clean snap.

TBH I think the last Top Gear episode was like a parody of themselves. I think they've lost it really.
Hammond and May will get other BBC jobs. Clarkson will get some show on some other channel where he gets to rant and rave etc etc.
I actually like Clarkson when he has it toned down a few notches - he's a good antidote to the ultra PC "must not even think of offending anyone in any possible way" world we live in now. When he's turned up to 11 he annoys me.
