    The event will defo be on and it's in Vegas. Aldo gets injured Conor gets a new opponent. Conor gets injured I have a little 1 minute cry as I drive around the las vegas strip in a limo. :pac:

    Conor wouldn't be fighting if Aldo got injured , if he lost then the whole Mcgregor vs Aldo hype train would vanish . Conor would wait for his shot i'd imagine & rightly so. The last thing he'd want is to get lay on by the likes of Nik Lentz for 3 rounds & lose his title shot!

    Conor said already he didn't wanna wait til July to fight that's why he's taken part in the BJJ Euros. He's not waiting that long and going through a full camp without fighting and getting paid on what will still be a huge card.

    Here's the price breakdown for UFC 187 which also takes place in MGM Grand.
    P1 = $1,045.32
    P2 = $794.35
    P3 = $537.15
    P4 = $380.15
    P5 = $222.70
    P6 = $148.45

    Big jump in price from P5 to P4. A $250-$300 ticket is something myself and my mates would be willing to pay.

    Just noticed it there pal. Handy breakdown.

    EDIT: Someone over on Fight Club forum mentioned that Invicta will be hosting an event on the Friday night. Would also expect the latest TUF series to be the event on the Sunday after 189.

    One hell of a fight weekend.

    Yeah its a good help for deciding what price to go for. TUF Finale is advertised on the expo website and wIth TUF being announced last night and starting in April looks like its a defo.

    Did ya see Dana telling people not to buy the VIP Expo ticket at $2,500 that its a F'n rip off Haha.

    UFC 187 pre-sale started today which also takes place in MGM Grand. Was just on the pre-sale page for the event out of curiosity earlier on ahead of 189's pre-sale. At 6pm the interactive map was alive and kicking and you were able to pick and choose your seats.

    However, it seemed like most of the areas were shaded out. Either they sold out quickly (doubtful) or those seats are being reserved for newsletter/general sale.

    The map was only up for about 6 minutes before they took it down and gave the "best available" option.

    Saw absolutely none of the so called "cheap seats" there whatsoever when I went on to the interactive map. Even seats at the very top at the very back were being priced at the 240 dollar mark. Just very strange.

    A few giving out on the Fight Club forum about the lack of interactive map and some seats not even being made available from the get go in the pre-sale.

    Oh, I was listening to MMAJunkie Radio yesterday and they were saying that there is no event on the Sunday night. It's in Florida for the upcoming TUF Finale which makes geographical sense but still... Oh well.

    That sucks. I was looking forward to 2 events.

    I'd do the Invicta card on Friday, but my friend is anti WMMA!

    So UFC 187 went on sale yesterday, ticket prices seemed to range from $130ish up to $1050.

    I'd expect similar prices for 189. Interestingly, there are tons of tickets still available for that event this morning. I'd say more than 50% still there.

    Available seats in blue.

    I'm happier about the Invicta card. A friend of mine is potentially fighting on it too.

    Is there a newsletter sale for 187 then today?

    I signed up for it ages ago but have yet to receive a single mail or password for this sale, just looking ahead for how its gonna play out for 189

    Yeah newsletter sale today, general sale tomorrow.

    Scoured both mail accounts I have registered, not a newsletter in either one :mad:
    Did any of ye get it?

    Found the password "SOUND" on an LA radio station site,think it might be tkts allocated to this version of a radio station presale only
    Im in on it now just checking it out....selecting seats in any price range keeps on tellin me no seats are available or throwing up errors but doing it on the mobile offers me seats alright

    As mentioned above about yesterday, for the first few mins I could select seats from that same map but then it was removed.

    Thanks man, UFCRADIO seems to be another password that works, saw it on Twitter....strange the way none work on laptop but all do on mobile, will remember that when 189 sale comes around

    I wonder how many Irish are actually heading over?

    The July flight price will have knocked a few out I'm sure.

    People keep saying there will be thousands heading over, but how many actually have flights, hotels with booked?

    That's the thing. There's been a ton of people tagged in travel agency posts on Facebook.

    Price of flight, price of ticket and hotel in mid July will really put people off I'd say.

    There's alot of those FB travel agent offers floating around alright, saw one advertising fight tickets & hotel for around 500 that had lots of comments underneath but like you say, I think the high flight price might put many off

    Still quite healthy on the seat map for the 187 presale ticket round, I'd imagine Jones V Johnson would be a bigger draw than Mcgreggor V Aldo in the US?
    Only thing that the 189 presale might suffer from is the influx of Irish & Brazillians scrambling for tickets....think Im gonna end up going for the $530 option, back of the first tier level

    Likewise.

    Had $300 seats in the MGM last time, think I'll splash a bit more this time.

    Seats weren't bad. Insane prices no matter where you go but that's to be expected in Vegas. Bear in mind that the equivalent of $300 would get you nearly cageside for a UK event.

    I'll try to remember to post some pics later, although I may forget!

    Ah ya I know. Was at UFC 93 aswell as the last fight night in Dublin, but I knew there was going to be a massive mark up.

    From the looks of it, the MGM seems like the kind of place where there isn't a bad seat in the house.

    Unfortunately my mates are like that too. That said, they're fairly casual MMA fans anyway.

    Wouldn't mind going along to it myself. I know they did a discount on tickets for those who had UFC 184 tickets. Might do the same again though I don't fancy having my tickets on me until fight night.

    I haven't posted here much but I am a fairly big fan of the sport. I love Conor but I have seen a lot of Aldos fights and I really think that Aldo will win. Just wondering from the people who are more knowledgeable about the sport than I am, who do ye think will win?

    I know there is a lot of people around lately who weren't into the mma up until the bandwagon started and are saying stuff like Conor will win easily etc but I just think Aldo is immense. So from people who are big into the sport who do ye think will win?

    Conor, i have no doubt and i've been following the sport for years, i don't think Jose has fought anyone who hits like Conor, who is as unorthodox as Conor, who has the self belief of Conor.

    I really hope he does win and if I had the money I would be going to the fight but I just have a bad feeling :( . I hope you're right. I really think Conor is doing Ireland proud and is by far my favorite Irish sports person at the moment.

    Will be an amazing fight for sure :)

    I genuinely think McGregor will win. I think Aldo has stagnated since coming into the UFC and Conor seems to possess power that he has never faced. I don't think Aldo will finish McGregor but he could easily win a decision.

    Its a very tight fight to call, and I say McGregor will win but in truth we have no clue how McGregor will get on against the level of fighter that Jose is.

    That is my thought process as well, I know Mcgregor has fought some good guys but has he ever really fought a top guy. I know the guys he fought were obviously skilled fighters but forgive me if I'm wrong, I dont think any of them were even near Aldos skill level. I saw Fabers legs the day after the fight and they were in bits, those kicks he has are really amazing.

    Did you feel that Mcgregor had the other guys beat before they even got in the cage? Feels like the other guys were defeated before the bell even rung. I dont think he will get in Aldos head.

    I don't think he was in Siver's really to be honest. Poirer and Brandao, big time.

    bit of a contradiction?

    I think if Conor is to win, he has to fight the perfect fight. The Poirier fight only lasted 90 seconds, but Poirier landed 3 or 4 decent leg kicks, if he let's Aldo do that, then he will be in serious trouble.

    Alot of people tend to wait for Aldo to tire in rounds 4 and 5 to turn up the heat on him, but judging from Conors last few weigh ins, I'm not sure he can necessarily bank on it.

    I think the fight will probably go the distance, as I can't see either of them being stopped, but I just think if Aldo lands enough leg kicks then he'll probably win by decision.

    That's not to say I don't think Conor can win, but if there was a gun to my head now, I'd go with Aldo.

    The bookies currently have it as 8/11 Aldo and 11/10 Conor, which is about right in my opinion.

    Although obviously I massively hope I'm wrong.

    So from people who are big into the sport who do ye think will win?

    It's an intriguing fight for sure and I'm not entirely sure if Aldo would want anything to do with McGregor's stand up and he may try to take it to the ground.

    Aldo has a black belt in BJJ and this might be the advantage in the fight. He hasn't submitted anybody since 2005 and that wasn't even in the UFC but just because he doesn't use it, doesn't mean he doesn't have it.

    Both fighters have good reach and like to fight on the outside. McGregor throws kicks and punches at weird angles while Aldo has those long legs of his which are arguably his biggest weapon.

    I was watching the Mendes fight (2nd one) recently and they were both trading a fair amount of punches in close range to each other.

    It's evident on the faces of McGregor's previous opponents (Brandao and Siver in particular) that all offence went out the window as soon as he landed. I don't think Aldo has come up against a striker like Conor yet.

    If McGregor can close the distance, get inside and land a few punches early I think Aldo will shoot for takedowns more than maybe he will have been preparing for.

    That said, it's pure speculation on my part but it's one of the more intriguing featherweight title fights in a while.

    Slightly. I think McGregor will win but its just a guess in truth. I have it panning out about 10 different ways in my head. McGregor has never fought anyone on Aldo's level so its impossible to judge, But I do think its a bad match up for Aldo, Conor is a Southpaw and Aldo is Orthodox and I think he'll be able to use his jab and hit jab and straight lefts keeping Jose at bay. I also think he'll have too much power.

    I'll be ****ting it when the cage walks are done.

    I really hope one of them doesn't get injured in the build up to the fight.

    Fight itself is so hard to predict. Jose is such a beast, but after looking at how Mendes managed to perform against Jose, then I expect McG to put on a very strong showing and probably get the win.

    Has anyone been to the mgm before? What are the cheap seats like? Its a small arena so I imagine it would still be pretty good or is it worth the extra money for better seats?
