I heard RTÉ have a big bid in for exclusive rights...but only if Jimmy Magee agree on commentator duties.

For once his utterances of 'world class' would be appropriate....

F*cking Jimmy Magee, he'd be banging on about rowing and horse racing mid-fight and hasn't a clue about the sport. Why is he let anywhere near the microphone?

    Remember kiko vs Dunne...
"Did he hit him? I didn't see a punch. Remember Ali and the phantom punch"....
Yes Jimmy he did hit him. I think the back row in the point seen that punch.

Correct, and Dave Boy didn't see the shots either. Two lads were in denial about what was unfolding in front of them.

Jimmy's a great man if you like your commentator talking about anything other than what's happening in the ring.

Not trying to defend them but if they didn't see it they didn't see it. Maybe at the point of the landing of the shot their view was obscured, although they could have said that. So, I guess that maybe they did see the "shot" but didn't believe it was a shot or that it landed.

Or if you want to be reminiscent about something totally unrelated that happened in 1952...

@Walsh, their job was to commentate on the fights. Half the time to two boys were looking at fact files in front of them or each other, as the fight was happening.

Not disagreeing there, just saying that at that time maybe their view was obscured by something.

We'll know if he's the new flanna01 if he posts a bet and it falls after the first fight

By the looks of it it will

And talking about himself too. "I remember I was commenting on another great battle in 1982, the long running rivalry between the famous German discus throwers from...."

    Memory man? F*ck off.

Manny by Decision/Points 11/2 on Paddy Power. Tempted to dump a weekends wages of that. Return of about two grand.

If I got to see Pac starch Floyd those winnings would be an afterthought.

Thought Mayweather looked a bit nervous at that. Interesting.

I remember thinking he looked nervous before the de la Hoya fight, even with his big daft mexican hat on, maybe he is nervous before big fights? You hear of certain seasoned musicians still getting butterflies before gigs etc...

I think he was sick. His voice was cracked.

Boring enough press conference. Should heat up a bit when Freddie and Floyd Sr have more of a platform.

Loving this god rant/sermon from Manny. Enthralling!
