Anyone here work at B&L as a general operative currently or in that role recently? What's required in the job (re experience and qualifications), I fired off an e-mail but nothing back.

    Cheers.

You should have gotten an email acknowledging your cv but I doubt they will be getting back to people for a few days yet, the closing day for applications is Tuesday so it will be after that anyway

Probably a min wage job and I'd say half the town has applied for a job there, could be a while before you hear anything.

From what I was told from someone in there, the new general ops coming in are on no more than 11 or 12 euro per hour.

The staff already in there are bound to be on a higher wage than the new staff, wasnt there pay cuts a while back ? No hope they'll be offering the new staff anywhere near what they use to IMO.

The training is supposedly funded by the government too, so I highly doubt its 15 quid per hour anymore.

Positivity boy, you can't bate it

Positivity, decent paid jobs and Waterford do they belong in the same sentence :).

15 quid an hour in Waterford is a bit ambitious these days. Hopefully though, you never know,. ive heard a few different stories, to be called for an interview is the first hurdle anyway.

First time i heard training been funded by the government, what training you talking about exactly?,and someone already mentioned the hourly rate from a friend of theirs who got a job.

At the moment they are taking people on the weekend shift, but last week they also started taking people on 3 shifts.

Guy started weekend shift two weeks ago, he is on 14 euro an hour.

Whatever training is required. I doubt you'd just get thrown right in without any training. I actually was talking to someone this evening who done the aptitude test in the tower a while back, he said the weekenders are In for one days training during the week too for a while, they tell you this on the day if you're called for the test.

I really do hope its 15 euro per hour, I just posted what I heard from someone in their, I'll get back to him on it anyway.

wouldn't 12-15e an hour be considered a decent wage for general operatives?
