While it'd be interesting to see what it could do on a full economy run, I neither have the time nor patience :D

Always worth getting a new quote online from your insurance company at renewal time. It's usually cheaper and then ring them with it.

My renewal was 510 and eventually got them down to 380( ring them the last time when your renewal date is almost out).

Got a bit off the fathers insurance too.

Yea I couldn't get over the jump up from €400's to €800's but I got a good enough quote from AA but only because I am a current AA roadside assistant member. What's the point of having no penalty points and ncb :( sad times!!

Bpmull yea I still have the Astra, gonna keep it for a little longer as I'm holding out for the new model or a different car if I like one :) how's the golf??

Sertus wouldn't match AA so I left them

And by a few small bits you mean jom coilovers, straight pipe exhaust, 19" AMG reps on Triangles, luminous yellow brake callipers and a R32 badge on the back...?

Can anyone recommend a BMW specialist around Cork City? I've heard Ardfallen are pretty good, anyone else? This rough idle is doing my head in and I could be forever putting new parts in only for it to be the exact same.

I would, it's the most understated of the" modern" M5's, none of this M Gill business.

I agree with EC about the F10,i consider it the successor in terms of looks but the twin turbo V8 doesn't do much for me tbh.

My experience of that engine is that it's very responsive, endless buckets of power but unfortunately silent (and that's in a much heavier F02 than the M5).

This is the video that did it for me, the minute the E39 starts to rev you know the winner!

    Turbo's always kill noise.

Except 5 cylinders, nothing shuts them up :)

That's all exhaust noise though, I'm sure if you put that onto any of those M5's, you'd have the same kind of thing,

Anyone in the Ballindine, Mayo area. There is a rally simulator at the petrol station with a Supermacs. I don't know if it is still there. Passed it today at about 2pm. I thought it was a trailer letting people see a Ford Focus rally car, but above it says rally simulator. Looked to be a real car too. Mind you I was driving by and rubber necking.

All part and package of them though, I don't like any of the new M's, too "synthetic" for me. There was an English F80 M3 around Douglas today and bar the look of it, which is amazing, the sound didn't do much for me.

Believe me, I love the noise of the V10's, it's the newer F vehicles I'm not a fan of. There's now two E60 M5's and one M6 floating around and they're amazing :D

    V8 4 door saloons are commonplace...:D

I love the idea of a E60 with a high revving NA engine like the M5. I'd bloody love one! The E60 has also aged far better than the E39....
