More than TA. My Sister in Law and her husband are dicks
They took €100 as presents from Mother in Law at Christmas and didn't even give her a card.
My Mother in Law is 80 at the end of the month. She doesn't want presents but she wants the family and friends to go for a meal in her favourite restaurant. So I book a table for the saturday evening, Sister in Law asks if we can have the meal in the afternoon instead because of her 2 kids, They're 17 and 13. She's texting my husband every day asking something or other about the meal. OH is a driver so he's on the road unable to text. Driving me nuts

Ms Bubbles your post kind of reminds me of a TA that my mother is responsible for. Every so often, my granny will give her €100 for me. I don't feel bad taking it as I am good to her, she is fairly minted and she likes to give to her grandchildren. Well...grand daughters! Sadly for the males in our family, she thinks it is "demeaning" to be giving money to a fully grown man...chuckle
But you know, I laugh but that's her choice. It's probably to do with her generation, that you just don't do that once the males are of a certain age. Anyway, what annoys me is that my mother clearly has a bee in her bonnet about this and has started to interfere when she should know better. She has started coming back from my grans house saying, "oh look, she gave me fifty for you and fifty for your brother" and I'm like, really?? You want me to believe that?? It's not the money, it's the fact that she thinks she can just interfere like that and sort of go behind my gran's back. I know she is acting from a place that wants all things to be just and equal between her kids, but ffs my brother is a 36 year old man child who still lives at home, plus I have huge college fees etc to pay. So even though we are on the same wages, I have bigger outgoings and I tend not to píss away the money the way he does. It just annoys me that she thinks she can make that kind of judgment call, and also that I can't say anything to her because she will think I am a money grabber 0 -

You know when someone has something really horrible happen to them, and they are photographed for an article, looking all soulful and sad, maybe clutching someone's hand. It just does my head in. I feel their pain and all, but are they told to pose like that or what ? Those trashy women's magazines are the worst with their doom and gloom stories. "My sister had an affair with my husband, after killing all my kids, and eating the goldfish ". That kinda crap 0
