my Raven gets onto my bed and lies down with her arse facing me, i don't understand,

as a pup i always had her facing me..

now she can't stand the sight of me haha!
    anyway..

    Just now,

my other half let her out on the grass, and got ready for work..

    im Stil in bed..

he lets her in about 20 mins later and says goodbye and off he goes closing the front door.

raven comes running up the stairs and leaps onto the bed.

sees me and gets a fright and gets all excited!!

she must do this every day we leave for work! hahaha

There has been research proving that having a pet improves the owners health and wellbeing - well done Penny!

I had to smile but push furiously when the Bull Terrier tried to climb on my knee in traffic - and then when that failed he attempted to crawl his 30 kg frame across the front dashboard to look into my eyes. Dangerous maybe but this was rush hour, when no one was moving so at 3mph it was just - move faster than the traffic you stinkybully.

I mentioned it already in another thread but...

I found a cat poo hidden under a post-it note this morning :pac:

It must have been a cling-on which he did his bet to conceal after the fact.

I came home yesterday to find that Ra had managed to lock herself in the bathroom.

I'd have laughed but when your geriatric pet doesn't greet you and isn't in her bed, the kitchen, or behind the sofa you do start to worry.

I don't know what she was doing in the loo either, I haven't been get her to set foot on the stairs since the B.A.T.H. incident of 2011.

You drive around with an untethered 30kg dog in the cockpit of the car?? . ??
    That's insanely dangerous!

Dude is so bold all you can do is smile. This evening he was cuddled up on my chest as usual. I was trying to drink a cup of tea, had the cup up to my mouth and he stuck his head in over the top to try drink it, when that failed he stuck his paw into it -.- so I didn't get my cuppa! He then decided he no longer wants to suck his blankets but would rather suck on my chin. That is NOT a habit I'm going to let him get into!

Wife and I are watching Sons Of Anarchy series 6 at the moment. Wife noticed the other night that the dog always jumps up off his bed when the closing credits comes on, gets a pull toy and brings it to one of us. Took notice last and and boom, up he was at the first bar :)

In a rare sunny hour I took my coffee outside and sat on a pile of logs. My feral, who I am sure was dumped up here, always comes along when he hears me out. Once some while ago he tentatively put two paws on my knee, then backed off... This time he came right on my lap and started purring, eyes slitted in bliss. He has been with me a long while now but I refuse to push critters..In their own sweet time. He must have been handled at some time but if I raise my voice for any reason, he is terrified,, go figure!

Tomy who's our latest foster cat who's about 3 months and all black has become addicted to greek yogurt (plain). He'll now jump up on the counter to lick my bowl as I prepare my breakfast (he gets his own dollop along with one of our other cats every morning) and will constantly jump on my shoulder to try to climb down my chest to the table to the yogurt once he finished his dollop. This will not stop until I put the empty bowl down for him to lick clean (I don't use sugar etc. so what's left is plain as well and hence I'm ok with him eating it). I'm going to need to test him what's better; greek yogurt or chicken hearts (the only other food he'll jump on the counter to get to before serving)...

I brought home my new cat from his fosterer yesterday. Put him in his bonding room, where he immediately ran into the hiding place I'd set up for him. Didn't see him again the whole evening.

When I went to bed I left the doors open to both his room and mine. Woke up after midnight to see him standing in my doorway. He stood there for several minutes, came into my room, jumped up onto the foot of my bed, stared at me for a few minutes, then jumped down and ran back out of the room.

This morning, he's back in his room, still hiding :D

Tux has turned into a TV addict!
Who knew there were so many videos for cats on YouTube?!?!?

Tux will sit and watch the birds videos for hours!

I think we must be very bad cat-parents to encourage so much tv - and at her age too

One of my kitties was the same when he was little, he used to love TV and videos! One day I remembered an old cat food ad whose target audience was... cats, apparently... so I found it on YouTube and showed it to him - he was absolutely MAD about it!!! :D

He stopped showing interest in all of that when he got all grown up, so I wouldn't worry too much about Tux, I bet it's just a phase he's going through ;) :pac:

Anyway, if you want to show the ad to him too and see how he reacts, just take a look:

So my cat is crazy....he was playing with something in the green area behind the apartment, couldn't figure out what it was for the longest time, but eventually seen that it was a birds head just the head...disgusting but okay.

So I notice that he's gone into his stalking mode and hides behind one of the many bushes...at the same time I see a lady out walking her dog in the green area. So when they get close to the bush the cat dives out with a birds head in it's mouth, goes up on his back legs and waves his paws in the air a bit...lady screams, dog bolts followed by the lady and cat runs after them, funniest thing I've seen in a long time...the cat is crazy

For the laughter, thank you! It is the birds head that makes it!

The impact one feral cat has is amazing.. It was so quiet the day he was away. Then he erupts into life here with a great aplomb. When I went out very early to check the dogs, who now choose to sleep in the shed, there he was on the doorstep, begging for affection and food and wrapping his furry self round my ankles... later when he had been fed too, I hear a commotion, cats screaming, dog barking, and there they are, my two boys, locked in combat. My big boy broke free then boxed the feral's ears very forcefully before swarming up a tree.. for some reason feral does not climb trees. Just another winter morning on the mountain...NB they never do each other harm but the noise is ferocious. Men!

I have two large bags of potting compost sitting outside where I dropped them from the car as they are too heavy to lift. I noticed that one looks torn and today set broad bean seed in trays... You will have guessed what I found when I stuck my bare hand in  This will be my big boy who in the cold weather is experimenting with various places to pee and poo... turf and coal are among his favourites. But this was in the garden..soil and grass everywhere....

I volunteer with an animal rescue. We have a charity shop. Today a lady came in to the shop to visit, with one of our rescue dogs that shes adopted. An incredibly muscular Pit Bull dog. He is an absolute softie and so friendly and slobbery and huggy and lovely!!! He is spoiled absolutely rotten, is so loved and loving and in fabulous condition and well taken care of. I nearly ended up in tears seeing how happy this dog is. Then he had to go home cos he was late already for his dinner - sometimes its the little things that make things so worthwhile :):)

i know this is silly, but my dog struggles to eat her full meal.

so myself and the other half have doubled the walks!! - we can thank the squirrels really, she's mad to chase them!!

she comes home starved like a child and mills it.. WIN!

Just watched my big cat strolling round the back of the house.. when he turns the corner, wee dog is there so cat greets him by rolling onto his back, belly up, paws waving.. wee dog is not sure what to make of this so they both run to me for adjudication.. lovely that it is mild enough for them to enjoy being out...

Nah, he's probably not feral, just very posh - he only camouflages on red and white marble, like this...

I will admit that I looked for a cat in that picture for a second or two and really admired his camouflage abilities! :pac:

Do cats KNOW when they are in trouble?!?
    I think Tux does!
If I wave my finger, and say NO! she gives me a filthy look (and stops what ever it was she was doing)
Or am I a brainwashed cat owner?!? :o

Anyway, back from the vet today, vaccinations now done, spaying scheduled for monday week. This vet (big practice) tells me Tux still has her baby teeth, so NOT as old as the other vet told me she was (shes was a found kitten)
Great excitement in the car in brand new cat carrier, when we got home (phew) all settled down to recover (dog had to come too for his vaccinations!!) An hour or so later, couldnt find Tux... thought she might be sleeping in a hidden place feeling bad after the shots... searched the house from top to bottom. NO TUX! Panic now, find bathroom window open, and footprints on the windowsill  Out in garden calling the bloody kitten. No sign  Went to hen run (where I originally found her) and the dog takes off across the property, where we find Tux up a tree - the relief! She must have been in the garden for ages - was so happy that she didnt go off the property (bodes well for when shes neutered and allowed out??) Shes been mad to get out for the past while. Anyway, she KNEW she was in trouble, SHOT down from the tree and went pelting back to the bathroom window - closed now - let me pick her up and climbed under my jacket purring and snuggling like the rotten little suck-up she is :)

Yes, they DO know, but they don't care, they just pretend to feel guilty, so you leave them alone and they can keep doing whatever they were doing. They are smart animals (more than certain people I know...), but they have free will and are not afraid to use it. And we love them regardless. ;)

Last night for the first time he slept on the pillow next to me, instead of near my feet. It's such a joy seeing how I'm gaining his trust a little more each day.
