Their house, their rules. As a parent I wouldn't get offended by a villa with a 'no kid's' policy. You have to wonder what the problem is though.

These are the hotels and villas I book, no offense to parents but when I go away, I do not want the shouting, screaming and running around of little kids all over the place. Nice quiet, chilled out. aaaaahhhhh, holidays mmmmmmm

    So they are sexist.

You arent going to have to suck a cock to get in

Actually, the adults were discussing whether it was bigoted.

I just wrote a review! The moderation team have to approve it so I suspect it will not be published, but I informed then that not only would I not rent the house, but nor would I use a website that accepts homophobic homeowners advertising their prejudice to book my holiday.

You wrote a review on a villa you never stayed in?

No. That's the law. You must operate within the law. (unless you are HSBC)

But it says they're "hetero friendly". As already said, "Gay friendly" does not automatically mean "Gay only".

You're faith in the law over human discretion is touching.

I'd imagine things like this are considered private arrangements rather than a business transaction so they can get away with what they want. I'm more surprised at the company allowing it up tbh.

It won't be published, has to go through moderation and I didn't pretend I had stated there. I didn't say anything about the house just that I would not use house, nor will I be using website to book my holiday since they allow bigotry and that I will put it on face book so none of my friends, friends friends etc will be staying there either. Just letting moderation know that bigotry could be very bad for business :)

Can't see the problem with this, it's their home, their choice. Maybe religious grounds are the reason.

Same as the cake shop up North really, but i suppose the gay brigade will be all over this too

Would it be OK, if they said no black couples? Or no interracial couples, because they are from the deep south and its against their cultural values?

Religion is a choice. Being gay isnt. Why should we pick and choose what discrimination is?

Thanks for that. Some of those places look great. And we won't be discriminated against for being straight.

On a serious note what are the issues that some accommodations have with gay couples? Obviously with a male couple the concern surrounds the high probability of Anal sex and the resulting sh!t on the bedsheets.

    Not all discrimination is illegal.

I would think that the situation in the OP is illegal, but the 'gay only' resorts are not.

I'm after finding a lovely escort on adultwork but she only accepts lesbian clients. It's a disgrace what's going on today. What's wrong with my 130quid for 1hr

It's a simple matter of personal moral standards, and the fact that they are perfectly free to decide who passes /doesn't pass THEIR door.

Being a gay man myself, although it is illegal for them to state they won't allow same sex couples, I would rather I knew that than turn up and have to endure the disapproving looks and potential bigotry comments that would ruin my holiday.

Never worry OP, your bargain basement choice in villa is nowhere near fabulous enough for the gheys to want to stay in it anyway!

An amyl nitrate fuelled pool party just wouldn't cut the mustard here, please re-post a similar thread when you can boast about checking out a half decent place to stay
    Pffttttt

Me and the GF are looking for a villa in the canaries atm for a holiday in April, Trawling through the usual sites including owners-direct when I stumbled upon this gem today:

    http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/accommodation/p8054482

Nice villa nothing to untoward until you get to the notes on accommodation where it states

"Please do not smoke within any rooms in the villa ash trays are provided outside at the patio areas. families and couples only, no same sex couples"

Aside from being highly immoral is this legal?

If they said no blacks / Irish / Asian instead, do you think that would be ok?

    Blacks, no.

    Asians, definitely no.

    Irish? Yeah, I understand...

    "Men only"

    Hound them out of buisness

It's pure discrimination nothing else to it. People who are linking the gay resorts, it's a bit different. I don't think anyone who's not gay would have any interest going to a gay resort.
