I could live with my bench but for the Baird risk and Johnson doubtful. If both didn't make it I'd be fielding 10.

    Foster
Bellerin, Terry, Baird (PVA, Bertrand) ....picked for now based on clean sheet odds which are surprisingly decent for Arsenal
    Hazard, ADM, Johnson, Cork (Sanchez)
    Aguero, Giroud, Pelle.
    3.4m in the bank.

I just can't see what transfer would make that better in the keep Sanchez scenario, so if I do go that way I might bank. Don't think it's worth changing Pelle for this fixture but he's gone next week. Need the 3.4 for Pelle to Studge.

    Any move jumping out folks?

If I were you I'd make the maths about Sanchez.
How much did you buy him for? £10.3m IIRC? How much can you sell him for today? £10.8m IIWC? He's probably gonna go down tonight and unless he's declared fit for midweek tomorrow chances are he'll drop tomorrow too.
You have no "freedom" for your Pellè -> Sturridge move but you could always downgrade Bertrand. Or better Bertrand could drop (probably next week) but that'd require 2 transfers to get rid and back. ADM can be downgraded to Eriksen too when United fixtures will be less nice and if he doesn't improve his returns.

My point is it could be a great timing for losing the cash you have tied on Sanchez. Your team value is gigantic (certainly the best in here). That shoudl give you a great flexibility for the run-in. If my figures are correct, you've only lost £0.1m so far on being late to "ditch" Sanchez.

In the worse case scenario you'll sell him for £10.8m and buy him back for £11.2m. So the million £ question is whether your team/transfer flexibility is worth £0.4m :P :D.
So it looks like I have 3 options, having already done Ings to Aguero this week.

    (a) Take a -4 and do Sanchez to Cazorla

    (b) Play Boyd in a 3-4-3:
    Foster
    Terry Trippier PVA
    Puncheon Boyd ADM Hazard
    Aguero Kane Giroud

    (c) Bench Boyd and play 4-3-3 with a double up on WBA at the back

Am leaning towards (a) at the minute but don't know if the -4 will be worth it in the long run.

It's a very tough call since there are some chances it'll be for a 1-GW return only. If Sanchez was/is confirmed out or at least benched for the midweek game option a would be a no-brainer punt. Unfortunately we may not have this info...

    To summarise:
    • (a) gambler
    • (b) safer
    • (c) double or quits -er

So many doubts and injuries in my team. Don't know where to start. Any advice would really be welcome. Thanks.

    Panti Heaton

    Cahill Alderweireld PVA Hutton Wasi

    Chadli Sanchez A.Johnson Hazard Silva

    Augero Kane Giroud

    Cahill to Terry possible?
How much cash tied on Sanchez?

Sorry for re-posting but any input would be great. I'm thinking Cahill out for Terry or Ivanavic?

Chadli or Johnson out; depends on how much you have ITB.

Would lose no money on Sanchez, still have him as 11.3. I'm actually thinking of transferring him out now. Will Oscar start or would he be worth it?

Held Sanchez through .2 of a loss (.1 loss in resale price). Then sold him, then he says he's fit. Some lad!

The Sanchez one is toughie. I don't doubt that my likely replacements for him (sterling/Cazorla/Eriksen/Silva) could/will score well. The problem is weighing up their likely returns versus the money lost transferring him out and then getting him in again, and also any points hits that might be involved, either this week (I also have Bertrand) or down the line by not being able to bank a transfer this week. The confusion is further compounded by the fact that (for this GW at least) you can't compare Sanchez with his replacement, you need to compare his replacement with who ever would come off your bench. So in my case it's 'Will Silva (for example) outscore PVA (or Baird) by 4 points?' Given PVA and Baird have decent chances of CSs, maybe not. I foresee a long night of flip flopping back and forth!

I think I'm going to get in Kompany for Bertrand. And then I'll need to weigh up if it's worth a -4 for Sanchez out for someone.

He had a thumb operation, missed the FA Cup game, was meant to be back for the weekend but Poyet was not so confident yesterday.

See quotes I posted in the Injuries thread.

I'm definitely waiting until tomorrow morning for any leaks. Silva is the best option this GW but I don't see him being worth 9.4m once Yaya and Bony are back. An Arsenal player will probably be my captain for GW25 so I'd hate to get Cazorla in now and then see him on the bench against Leicester. If Sanchez starts against Leicester he's the best option but that would waste two FTs getting him out and in when I need to be thinking about carrying two into the GW27 blank and DGW28. Not going to be a very productive day at work for me anyhow.

I'm more leaning towards holding him now, given the news today and increased likelihood he'll be fit and pushing to play v Leicester. Its not just about the cash, although being very miserly I don't like the idea of losing probably 0.4 (I don't think he'll drop both tonight and tomorrow, people who don't sell now will be waiting till Tuesday) just to swap him out for possibly one GW, but its also the waste of transfers. I definitely want Sanchez as my Arsenal mid for the run in, changing him out for another Arsenal mid (or even Silva) and back in again is 2 transfers I could otherwise have for the DGW.

I'm looking more likely to get rid of Johnson, as that gamble looks to be another failure, tempted to go for Moses!! I'm also seriously considering the Pelle > Sturridge move for a hit, as I've a feeling Studge will start. And if its a case of 90 mins for Studge (as opposed to 20 when we discussed this before) over Pelle for -4 it might well be worth it. I think Liverpool will win well in that game.

Would Oscar be a risk for the next 2/3 GWs?

I would think he is a risky purely because we don't know what Jose plans to do with Cuadrado he's said he could figure against Villa.

Cuad would more than likely come in for Willian though?

Good shout! He's pretty tall so makes sense. Definitely looks too tall to be Sanchez.

Who knows seems more likely alright but certainly adds an element of doubt is all.

Bench at best for a 20 min cameo after theo has scored and assisted and is then saved for Tuesday night ;)

Not sure what to do with Sanchez.

Get Silva in or keep Sanchez + Ft and play Moses instead.

If you got Sanchez for that price it's an easier decision to swap him today before he drops.

    Not sure about Oscar though.
Don't you fancy another Arsenal mid? Cazorla is in great form. Walcott could hit the ground running...

Yeah the 2 transfers (to get him out and back in) is the main con for me.

Though I don't have many urgent transfers on my mind (and hopefully it stays like this after this GW). I kind of regret not having gotten Panti but I guess the wise thing to do is give the Pulis pairing a few games before calling it a fail. Baird is an annoyance but he'll be replaced either for GW27 or 28 anyway. And I'm giving me a bit of time to assess the Bertrand situation.

Actually what would you do in my position with this team and no transfers done yet.
    Foster (Myhill)
    Terry Jones PvA (Baird, Bertrand)
    Hazard ADM Cazorla Lucas (Sanchez)
    Aguero Kane Giroud

I'm strongly considering getting Silva for Sanchez.

Oh and just one thing about Sanchez dropping tomorrow or not. If he's not on on the bench tomorrow, there could be enough transfer out before the deadline to make him drop tomorrow also.

I'd either do Sanchez to Silva, or bank it and hope for the best. Hows that for a useful answer? :D

Suppose what I mean is if you decide to hold onto Sanchez theres not much else worth doing this week.

City will probably go back 4222 this week with Jovetic or Dzeko coming back in, meaning Silva will be wide, which may reduce his goal chances. But he is on great form and is the very player who could destroy a Hull team setting up to defend for their lives.

I'm starting PvA over Baird and Wolly; don't see Bellerin keeping a cleanie and they have similar attacking threat.

Great minds, I had provisionally put PVA in my lineup too.
With Panti on the bench it would be a sickener to miss out on a Sunderland CS

I'm already changing my mind on this! I think I'll just keep Bertrand. I have the players to cover him - would be playing Terry, Jones and one of PVA or Baird.

So that leaves Sanchez. Bringing in Silva for him does become more appealing if it's not for a hit. Decisions, decisions!

Is it a certainty that one of these will come back?

Just saw on FFS that they have Dzeko starting... Hmm... Didn't anticipate that. I guess it reduces Silva's appeal a bit...

It was FFS which flagged the possibility to me as well. But it makes sense to go two up front at home to Hull.
