What sort of discounts can you expect? I understand each item is different, but say for example an SSD drive. Are you talking 50% discount, or 5% discount?

10-15 would be the tops I'd imagine.

The 1Tb 850 is 4 votes off the top, so while it may be a little large for some people, that's the trade off as the other to 850s are too far off

Right, I just emailed hardwareversand, who are a German company. If they agree to it, it'll be a roughly 8-10 day turnaround knowing them.

I enquired about 250 and 500gb EVO 850s to keep everyone happy :P They're over 50Eur cheaper than Dabs or Komplett which is why I tried them! I'll keep you updated

If we were to be doing a mass order would we have to decide on one drive/capacity? Im currently looking for a 120Gb bootdrive. If there was a good enough saving id go for a 250GB. The new 850 evo looks pretty class on paper.

More capacity= cheaper Gb/Eur so the savings would be more evident with a larger drive. If it comes to using this I'll set up a google doc and see which people would rather

Any site that doesn't let you look at it without having to sign up can't be trusted, so I'm never using that Mass Drop service until they let me look at things without having to create an account.

Digital Solitudes Private Bulk Shipping Co. would be ideal for you ;)

I have an email address for all potential spammy sites, so when I have to sign up to a site I don't have any particular interest being a member of I use that email address or one of it's linked aliases. I'd trust them about as much as any random site that wants money from me ;)

I recently got my PC from them. They take several days to respond to emails.

Ordered mine only Monday from them :D Yeah I remember them being slow enough in the past, but we'll have a few days for Massdrop to organise with Amazon to compare the savings from either anyways

Yeah its members only it seems. There's a lot of cool stuff on it, worth a fake email address at least :P

And thats all they got, had a look around, nothing really of interest to me. Interesting idea all the same

The bit about not confirming your email address may also allow people to not really exist.

Bulk buying would ensure a lower shipping cost, probably, but trusting someone with such capital... not sure.

That was one of the things I had mentioned, there's only a few people on here I'd trust to follow through, and I'd say there's less who would trust me to.

I don't see any problem in trusting a long term member. the cycling forum do it all the time.

Could we use Escrow? I've never used it before but I've heard about somewhere.

We could but whoever ordered would need to have a few grand on hand to order the bulk.

What a point to create website to sell mass amount of 20% cheaper ssd if you can drop 20% its price on amazon and get mass sell anyway ??

I'd be down for it anyway. My budget will allow for a 256, maybe just maybe a 512

    ???

His point (I believe) is that Amazon in their lightning deals often drop the price of SSD's by 20% or more. Particularly during the black friday event, so what benefit is there in doing a mass order, trusting a boardsie member with your capital when you can bide your time and get in on Amazon for an equivalent price, have a point of contact if issues arise and no trust issues.

I will admit, it would have to be a very good price to tempt me.

Well Black Friday is 9 months away for one. I get the point now, but I'm sure most considering the upgrade would like it sooner rather than later, not having to hope there is a deal on a good quality SSD and then hoping stocks last. A lot to bank on if you're only willing to buy a few days of the year

Sorry for messing but I tried to look from retailer point of view. If I have stock of €100 product (included into my offer at Amazon) and group of 1000 people ask me to sell them 20% cheaper?? I can drop my price on Amazon 20% and simple get them all, plus potentially next 1000 of average Amazon users. There is no point to deal straight with mentioned group of 1000...

Well you don't have to buy during Black Friday. You can track the price on camelcamelcamel. I was more just trying to clarify a point by another user. It all really depends on the price.

The price of Crucial SSD's is very reasonable these days. I put one in my laptop last summer and the difference is unbelievable. Can have the laptop on and Eclipse running in under 2 minutes

The bulk orderer is walking into your store, putting cash on your nose and buying your product in a single shipment.

The 1,000 single buyers are seeing a price drop you've advertised, maybe buying, and getting their thousand products 1 by 1.

For computer accessories amazon charge 12% referral - therefore 20% off on amazon ends up 28% off to you. In the event of a person claiming any kind of an issue at all even stupidity amazon will tell them to return the item, great for the consumer not for the seller.
