I'm only looking out at it yet today apart from dropping the young one to school, looks a little damp out, car said 10 degrees though so near heatwave.

Around 12 days away from a government declaration of drought. Plenty of neighbouring farms on OAD milking already. Crazy we milked twice a day to April last year. 26 degrees, clear skies and no wind.

Very rough out there. Wind picked up that bad around 5am that it woke herself and that's some feat

Seemed to be at it's worst here in Cavan round 5 am too.
Pelting rain and big bursts if rain.

Neighbour here had a good idea for a road side pen gate. He hung it on the inside of the block pillar, so even if it opened with the wind or someone opened it, it can't swing outwards. Narrows the entrance a little but it's fully safe beside the road.

is school closed? Got a text that school bus for secondary school wouldnt be travelling, I dropped eldest lad in, roads bad enough coming home
