Not weather related, that hasnt flew in days. Probably due to lack of passengers.

Nothing to do with lack of passengers, one of the planes used on this route needs a new engine so PAX are being put on LHR-JFK planes and vice versa instead while it is repaired.

The plane was forced to abort the landing, as severe weather conditions saw up to 10 planes being diverted away from Dublin Airport.

    Up to 10 planes:confused:

Wondering what has happened to "up to 3 planes" that hasn't been diverted to Shannon. Good old Irish Mirror:D

Can a newbie please ask what the story is with the AF flight that went around in circles for a while and appears to have now laned on a completely different approach path to everything else, and parked somewhere north of Swords?

    AF1116

ETA - aaaannnd.... as soon as I posted that, it disappeared off the screen!

I can't see it now but I presume it was holding. And as for the parked in Swords thing, those Cityjet RJs' tracks are always slightly off. If you imagine the track was lined up with the runway, its path after it lands matches the taxiways. Nothing to worry about :) Apparently one was parked outside my house the other day :pac:

EI33J finally gets down in Dublin over four hours since her last attempt!

TV3 were just on the phone with me about it being on the 5:30 news. Will be interesting to see how 'Daily Mail-ish' they go with it.

Yes, presumed holding as well, but was a strange pattern - all over the shop. Huge loops random loops over the Irish Sea.

And went in parallel to other flights, track showing north of Malahide estuary rather than just skirting Howth Head as everything else is showing.

Just thought it was a bit odd!

Anyway, if the track on those planes are always a bit off, that explains it.

    Cheers!

Hahaha, tell them that planes should not have even been allowed near Dublin as it was a miracle no-one crashed!
