RYR72AV looking to divert to Liverpool.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 122 ✭✭ngcxt6

Every time I hear a plane divert I just imagine the audible sigh and horror of hundreds of passengers on each flight. It would make ye feel bad. Especially when they head off to liverpool

but they might prefer that to landing at shannon and sitting on a bus for 3 hours :P

http://www.flightradar24.com/EIN563/54724d3 diverting to SNN but doing a slightly weird turn on approach there?

One just got into Cork which i was surprised at. Are Aer linguses limits higher than ryanairs? I've noticed most EI planes saying that its outside of their limits.

Just due to the aircraft perhaps?

EIN35Y seems to be going to SNN, not making 2nd attempt at DUB

looking at the charts I really believed today's going to be calmer. Poor pax, looking at TAF's hopefully it will calm a little after 17.00, we're in for a beating until then

The last one that tried to get in. Rough and ready videos.
I'm here sitting at my living room window just enjoying the view.

Just an observation & admittedly more a hunch of mine than anything but does anyone know if Lufthansa have a different approach to other airlines given weather situations?
It just appears they don't hang around when making a decision to divert
ie. sitting in any hold doesn't seem to appeal.

the berlin flight (EI33j) has gone into a slight hold in Shannon.

captain and passengers must be getting very nervous and running on fumes.

Each aircraft has a max demonstrated crosswind limit, which the manufacturer tested and be lives to be the highest safe number and then each airline has a company crosswind limit, which is the one they use.

Looking at the latest Dublin Airport TAF it seems like things are not going to be at their peak until 13:00 to 18:00 tomorrow afternoon (in Dublin). This is going to be one long lasting event.

Interesting to see if ETD41 gets in.

Ryanair have 33kt X-wind dry runway and the company I fly for has a A320/321 has a limit of 38kt wet and dry runway. Not sure about EI limits though

I'm sure they have taken an extra fuel, not your standard 20+ 40 mins or what ever it is
