    a

appreciate the advice there and when you wax your can id there a sealent you can put over the wax or is it just wax and then thats it ??

If you plan on using sealants and wax,
    The sealant goes on first.
Then wax on top of that

I am currently stuck on Soft99 "Fusso" base coat
Topped with Soft88 "King of Gloss"
    Any more Q's just shout.

    2 cars:

    Black 2002 Renault Clio
Going to Wash, Paint enhancing hand Polish & then Wax as soon as the weather is a bit better. Also have a scratch remover paste that I plan to use after washing and before polishing, hope it will reduce the appearance of some scratches (not from me!). Bit of UV damage on the headlights so will buff out with some polish as best as I can.

    Black 2011 BMW 118i:

Am thinking this (given that its paint is obvioulsy newer and in much better condition) should have a bit more care. Aside from wash, polish and wax, should I be looking to de-tar this? De-iron? Clay bar? Not sure what to do about it, it's my mother's car and she's not looking after it the way I would with such a new and lovely car! At 2.5 years old, what routine car needs to be done?

Don't take my word but as far as I'm aware you wax your car straight after the polish other wise other dirt and rain is just waxed over you need to have a spotless body to wax it and plus you won't get the shine your lookin for

Yeah sorry badly phrased, I meant to say when the weather is a bit better (as in, not bloody freezing!) I will be washing, polishing and waxing!

Great work Mik! Pug is looking as good as when it left :)

I think you wrote the word "filthy" in the soot that comes out of that one working exhaust pipe from the diesel. Could be wrong but it looks like that.

This morning, I took some wipes, and attacked the bird crap that's been on the bonnet of the wife's car since Friday.

Been looking at it for days, and finally the OCD kicked in.

A baby wipe to remove several day old bird crap does not spell OCD :o

    It spells. ODG

I think Doggy is about to give you a help with washing the rear wheel :)

    Snow foamed both cars today,
    vRS and E60

    both washed and dried.
    vRS was fine at that

E60 got a wipedown with Orchard Autocare Perfection.

    Happy days now.

I've been meaning to get pics up this past few days. I've a few beading shots as well. Car is soo shiney. Not for long though. I'll post up a few pictures of the state of my road too, which will show how pointless all my hard work is....

De tarred de-everything'd the car, polished, and sealed, along with the alloys last week. My God, it'll be a while before I do it myself again! Never in Winter again, that's for sure.

My lovely scrape on the back, must get that seen to soon

No wonder I get disheartened with cleaning :(

A friend of mine asked me to detail this Bentley early on this month.

Boi OH Boi this is one of the most beautiful cars i'v ever detailed and i think after spending some time with it it is my favorite, the level of detail and thought that's in this car is something that needs to be appreciated, the british racing green paint alone is like nothing i'v ever seen it's slightly two toned and has zero orange peel it just smooth as silk.

So first thing was to drive it out to be cleaned, I snowfoamed with reflectology R1NE which removed the heavy dirt then i washed the body with my beloved Carpro wool wash mitt (have it almost two years now!) and R1NE again in my cheap ass 20 liter B&Q buckets :p

    IMG_0119_zps6cfbe699.jpg

After that i started on the 20 inch! wheels with Autosmart smart wheel followed by Autosmart fallout remover, inside and out got mega cleaning.

    IMG_0130_zps62ba11d2.jpg

I continued decontaminating the body with Autosmart tardis (tar remover) and Autosmart fallout remover this time applied by a wash mitt and agitating twice around the car before rinsing off

    IMG_0123_zpsbb69655a.jpg

I finished the decontamination process with my clay cloth which revealed little to no contamination ... she's a protected garage queen you know ;)

    IMG_0128_zpsc52e9518.jpg

Finally I foamed the whole car to remove as much off the paint before drying.

    IMG_0129_zps622d6bed.jpg

    IMG_0131_zps069731b3.jpg

Now the paint was ready for some inspection, great levels across the whole car .... Bentley are very generous with paint :D

    DSCF9807_zpsea4977f6.jpg

    DSCF9802_zpsc8d8ef63.jpg

Next I inspected the paint under LED light to reveal any defects.

    bjBKf8P_zps46c0ced1.jpg

It was pretty much the same all over the car with the bonnet getting the most abuse from the local wash.

After two stages of machine polishing with Maxolen PM 1 and Carpro Reflect on Hex Logic green and black pads via my Flex X1107 i was left with this

I finished up polishing and noticed the Mulliner split rim lips were tarnished from either chemicals drying on the wheel or two strong a cleaner being used.

    DSCF9812_zps37e2932c.jpg

So i polished off that haze with autosol metal polish (GOD IS IN THE DETAIL)

    DSCF9814_zpse27c9c0f.jpg

When I was cleaning the wheel I noticed how well the caliper came out (stop N style)

    DSCF9829_zps8e08dfc8.jpg

While i had the autosol out I decided to polish the aluminum door sills ans kick panels (no before picture but they really needed this)

    DSCF9834_zpsd2400893.jpg

Back onto the paint I decided to seal this piece of Art in Swissvax Best Of Show. I choose this wax because the car is garaged all year around so durability was not a concern. Best of show delivered super levels of gloss.(picture taken after application hence the dust)

    DSCF9819_zps01b17cdb.jpg

    DSCF9822_zps9b8e35a2.jpg

    DSCF9820_zps30c0128f.jpg

    DSCF9821_zpsbd60193a.jpg

    DSCF9824_zps08ec5728.jpg

    DSCF9825_zps782ea2ea.jpg

On to the interior it was detailed with just as much love as the outside.

    DSCF9836_zpse18f3068.jpg

With the car finished I packed up and plugged the car back into the battery charger (that's why the booth is open).

    IMG_0136_zps5bdced12.jpg

    IMG_0134_zpsdd0ebee4.jpg

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
    Thanks a lot for l@@king :)

Following the rules every write up done by myself is from either a friend or family member and they have no business ties :)

Thanks to everyone that thanked the post and I have another one still to come.
