Wayne Rooney or Baines, that is the question.

It'll be a boring transfer for me (perhaps Duff out) as my 8-point hit last week cleared out alot of the doubtful players I had.

Wayne Rooney or Baines, that is the question.

But it's not the full question, though. Seeing as one is a striker and the other is not, it should be (Rooney + X) or (Baines + Y), imo.

Unless you're asking who'd be better in the sack, in which case i'd go for Baines, as i'm not old enough for Rooney to bring his "A" game. :pac:

ADM > Toure and Bertrand > Taylor

    Guzan

    Baines, Dummett, Taylor

    Downing, Sanchez, Chadli, Toure, Fabregas

    Aguero, Bony

Given, Campbell, Hutton and Moore as bench fodder of which two will need adressing with campbell and Moore out of favour.

In a fully fit Newcastle defence is Dummett first choice?

Yes IMO. He's playing cb at the moment but he is a natural lb who is first choice over haidara

He probably wasnt at the start of the season but has been getting rave reviews from the fans and Pardew so I agree, he has probably moved ahead of Haidara (and Williamson).

    :D

Both would be a one week or so thing. I have exactly enough in the bank to go Duff-->Baines and play four defenders this week and leave Costa chilling on the bench. With Baines playing at home to Hull this week, I rather fancy his chances of points.

Rooney would be in for Costa. I'd likely buy Costa back afterwards. The thing is, Falcao might play in which case I'd imagine Rooney would be playing deeper and I want a player that's certain of points for this upcoming GW. Already got rid of ADM, which leaves the Costa question. Either Rooney or Baines is my solution.

I'm leaning towards Baines at present.
    ;)

(For what it's worth, I'd say Baines is the better shag too.)

Is Steven Taylor still first choice when hes fit?

Jaanmat colo Taylor dummet is how I think their back 4 will line out, would that be right?

Anyone else out there got Yaya??? I would equate him with Van Persie for the moment, clearly overpriced but could be a great short term punt when money is burning a hole in your pocket (as often happens for various reasons)

Yea brought him last name get for ADM, 2 goals and assist on last three games, hopefully form continues for s bit.

If not can just swap him for someone else easily - don't like the idea of getting a cheaper player and using money elsewhere cause as others say when you then need money you don't know who to sell and can cost a bit.

    No idea what to do:

    Foster/Murphy

    Chambers Wisdom Dummett Jagielka Bertrand

    Sanchez Chadli Fabregas Siggy Isgrove

    Rooney Aguero Pelle

    Any ideas? 2 FTs.

Took a 4 point hit, Cresswell and Eriksen in for ADM and Hutton. Now spending far more than I'd like on defence and have 1.7m in the bank.

Pelle and Bertie seem the 2 most obvious to go. Any funds leftover? Isgrove is an enabler i get that but you may want a 5th mid that actually plays for over the hectic festive schedule. Rest of the squad looks pretty strong.

Jaanmatt is gone for two to three weeks now.

Santon is first choice left back when everyone is fit.

For me, first choice Newcastle defence is:

    Jaanmatt, Colo, ANOTHER, Santon

I think Dummett may have nailed that second centre back space but Williamson and Taylor are also vying for it. Taylor for me is behind both Dummett and Williamson in the pecking order.

How much in the bank? I'd prefer Cresswell for 0.4m more than Alderweireld. Otherwise it looks fine, although I'm not personally a fan of spending 5.2m for Jedinak as a 5th mid.

I presume that's your post wildcard team, not pre ;)

It's probably a recipe for disaster but Austin and Jedinak rotate very well home and away which is why I'm going to persist with it. When I have the chance to buffer out my squad I may as well take it. I'm aware of the heartache I'll encounter but rather have that than big fat 0's rolling in when they are needed.

Also continuing from the team I had yesterday I can save 1.4 by doing Panti -> Elliot and Clyne -> O'Shea which I'll probably do as part of a Costa/9 million mid fund. I think a Sunderland defender is a good option to have on the bench/in rotation and with PVA still out I've no problem giving a legend a home for Christmas.

agree with manual man if you're looking to make 2

pelle and berty out - Baines and Austin/Ings in....

though I'm hanging onto Berty myself so take that for what it is :D

Seriously: any opinions on Rooney or Baines? Who do we reckon has a higher points potential this week?

Can you wait until tomorrow night when we'll get to see the United line-up?

Where Rooney plays could be key. As for Baines at home to Hull it should be a cleanie in theory but if Mirallas plays (and I really really hope he does) it could limit Baines' forays forward and limit some set-pieces too.

Not sure I'm of any help except telling you to postpone your decision until tomorrow :pac:

Personally, I'd go for Baines. Everton are at home to Hull who are not great atm. Despite Rooneys recent record against Stoke at Old Trafford (a goal last season, an OG, 2 goals & 2 assists the season before), if he's going to be playing deep he's less likely to score big. Plus he's still an injury doubt on the FPL site.

This advice comes with the mandatory health warning. Rooney could quite easily wipe the floor with Stoke.:pac:

Right going to wildcard. First draft? Opinions? Is Bony/Lukaku a better bet than Austin/Costa?

Oh yeah, plan is to wait till tomorrow. I just want to be as informed as possible (by people who know more than me!) when I decide. :o
