    There's a reason they're disconnected though.

Ah don't be getting me all worried! :P

Although I did think the exact same.

When I closed the boot I had the back seat down to make sure they actually turn off. They do. The car was never rear ended by the looks of things so I don't think the likes of a panel beater would have forgotten to reconnect them.

What it does have is a tow bar so maybe they were disconnected to get at wiring when that was fitted and never reconnected.

Your car lighting is all probably controlled by a body computer. I guessing this is wonky if the glovebox light is plugged out too.

I wish I could keep my boot as clean and empty as yours

Went out again to check there. Glovebox light does actually work. All the interior lights seem to work fine in the car. Dimming properly etc.

    Why?

Never mind, I get you now.

If the battery is flat in the morning I'll know why.

We'll all hear tomorrow how the interior lights come on and get brighter as Snotaul revs the engine :pac:

Had a friend who's dash lights used to go off every time she pressed the brake pedal. Can't remember what car, either her Punto or Polo.

Bow to me single boot light peasants!

    :pac:

They're in an odd place. Back to back with the rear lights. Thanks to Kopparberg Strawberry and Lime for making me go check again, even though I wasn't sure exactly where he was on about.

    i knew it :P

S60 and S80 are the exact same car except the body is longer and slightly different

but interiors and engines etc are the same !

Thats why your post made me go check again. Both cars are more or less the same layout

Yeah, sure I never seem to post anything useful, Nothing is really going on with the cars, any time I do post about them it's usually hur hur you're driving an over engineered Opel, and I'm just spending far too much time on here sometimes I dunno I think I'm just having an off day to be honest! Pay no heed haha

I can probably count how many times I've posted something useful on one hand since I joined boards in 2009, and thats all over the site. You have two DIY threads going at the one time. That in itself says that you're a very valuable contributor to the site. Those are the kind of reasons I partake in the motors forum. I really hope its just an off day you're having. Don't take what other people say personally. Very easy to rip the piss behind a keyboard.

Aye I suppose so, it probably is just an off day, Just not "feeling it" lately so to speak but sure we'l see what happens i guess!

It must be the way it is around here at the moment as only about a month ago I almost closed my account. Just sometimes people go way over the line and it's unfair to insult anyone's car or the choices they make. Anyway I still think it's a great place to learn a lot about cars in every sense of the word I've learned so much since I joined.

Ah in fairness i'm guilty of insulting peoples cars myself, like i said probably an off day, i've learned a stupid amount of stuff from other posters since i joined too

There has been a noticeable attitude difference in the last while around here. I was off line for most of the weekend and when I came back I could see that a few virtual digs were thrown. A couple of disrespectful comments about what certain posters drive etc. Its fairly hypocritical for me to point out immaturity but there was absolutely no need for what went on to happen.

I really like it on here. I don't visit many forums bar Motors and History and Heritage (which is just occasional) but I find everybody on here really nice. When I first came on here in March or so, I really wasn't very interested in cars at all, I just wanted to know about Honda CRZs, but now I find the more I come on here the more interested I am in learning about cars and motoring in general. This forum has actually gotten me interested in doing stuff to my RCZ, enjoying it, rather than just viewing it as my mode of transport.
Its hard to explain, but this forum is awesome, its kind of turned me into an enthusiast, if that makes sense.

I'd be fairly similar to yourself.

Colm on here in particular was of immeasurable help and assistance when I was looking at buying a Rav4 before (and all through my ownership of it). Got advice, opinions and assistance by the bucket load, and stuff I'd never know elsewhere.

It was on here that I was pretty much hand-held through how to service the Rav4, also.

Then the detailing section consumed me for months on end (I spent so much :o ) and any time I've a small bit of a problem, the chaps on here are always willing to help out and throw out advice (most recently bpmull helping me out with car battery advice).

I find all the users on here to be excellent. All I ever do is mooch and I haven't even been shunned yet, so you know they're nice chaps when they let the likes of me leech off information for years on end without giving out to me :D

I'm pretty sure you've helped me out in the past with a few things, too, ToastedPickles. :)

Thats the thing, I don't think I could actually offer much information to people on here, and I've gotten loads.

But, if anyone happens to find themselves looking for info on rocks (who doesn't?), well then, step right into my office :pac:

    Knock knock :pac:

If I want to know what sort of rocks are underlying a particular field or a small area what is the best map to use for that?

You would need to obtain a geological map of the area. If its a large/well known area in an Irish region I could help you out with that.

Do a bit of rockclimbing and surfing so just interesting to know what your working with! We were trying to climb lovely cliffs during the summer in North Kerry around ballybunnion but it was fairly dodgy, too brittle to climb. Calcareous shale apparently.

Upside is 5.5 hours to go.
