Hairdressers that give you their entire life story when you're just trying to relax, and the way the one I go to tends to shorten my name down to what only people really close to me calls me. I have like three variations of my name, the full version and the shorter version (which everyone calls me) and the really short version which what my dad used to use, and one of my best friends. Then my hairdresser calls me that, and I hate it. She's not special enough to use it.

Also not being able to get jeans to fit right. If they fit my hips theyre much too big at my waist and if I get my size in the waist they won't even pull up over my hips. So I got these jeggings and they keep falling down. Which is annoying as I got a pair of knee high slouchy boots I need jeans to wear with.

People who overtake only to pull back in, right in front of you and go slower than the speed you've been doing. You are all ****tards.

Never had that happen .. I drive a bright yellow wee suzuki and all they want to do is go past it.. sounds infuriating though.. My real irk is the camper vans who drive on narrow roads at a snail pace and will not on pull over to let you pass.. even mot farmers do that here.

    I have a zero-tolerance policy towards pre-pay forecourts.

Ah... I had no idea what it was and the needle had been on empty for miles so it was any port in a storm.. Usually I use a local one where they know me.

Are you supposed to go in the shop and pay?

The idea is that you pull up, go into the shop to do some finagling with your credit-card or whatever, your man then activates the pump and you go out and fill, then you have to go back in again to do the actual paying which usually involves some sort of refund. When you use a credit-card, as I do all the time for motor fuel, this is a time-consuming and unnecessary pain in the arse and as I said, I and most people around here do not put up with it.

Having a really nice relaxing weekend. Staying in, watching TV, chilling and then not being able to sleep on Sunday night and end up coming into work tired anyway. For the love of fcuk, why? :(

Not being able to get an appointment to see my dr, that's okay, I know it's sciatica. It's keeping me awake during the night and is slowly getting worse during the day. I also know that if I don't do something about it now, it'll get so bad I won't be able to walk. I've had this a few other times before, I just want him to write a script for some good painkillers and he won't without seeing me. I'll never last til next Monday

I never know what to call "himself". Together 24 yrs, never married. Boyfriend sounds too teenagery, yet partner sounds a bit yee haw, ride em, cowboy. Mah pardner! I won't call him husband, as he isn't. So I usually resort to "himself". I know a couple who aren't married who refer to each other as husband/wife. That annoys me. I always feel like asking them when did they get married, and why wasn't I invited.

A late middle aged man came to my market stall in summer.. He was choosing jam, then said, "Wait a minute while I go and fetch my husband."...

So what was the girl wittering on about? All she had to do was switch on and go out to the car.. I had paid the other girl..Then all the fuss with the pump and the position of the car.. I hate Tralee!

I feel for you. I always keep painkillers back from my previous prescription to avoid this and also insist on a three month one.

Anything rather than ask a pharmacist!

Drs never used to be like this only seems recently and as they have started complaining about being overworked.

My manager says things like "that's a problem now" expecting/waiting for me to ask what the problem is. I dunno if this can be classed as "trivial" because it irritates me beyond belief!

It's times like this I miss living in the party house, one of my housemates had absolutely anything you could think of. Have a cough? No problem he'd have a cough medicine. Can't sleep? Have some Valium. Stressed out? No problem here's some Xanax. Feeling sick? Take some motilium. He had these unreal painkillers, zydol. Made me a bit sick but they were very good. It's a sad state of affairs if I have to hit him up instead of a Dr.

Valium and Xanax are both benzodiazepines, and Zydol is an opioid. These two classes of pharmaceuticals taken together can kill yo' ass fairly lively, and if I were you I'd be careful.

I don't take them together. I don't even have anything now, except for nurofen plus. Im just going to go to the out of hours Dr this evening considering it'd be easier to schedule an appointment with the queen than it is to do with my GP.
It's just mad how easy it is to get stuff without doing it properly, than it is when you are supposed to do it like you're supposed to.

This. Disappointed they "couldn't show their kids the real spirit of Christmas"? They wouldn't know the real spirit of Christmas if it bit them on the a.ss. Why not donate the money to a shoebox appeal or something?

I recall being told a story of a guy who spent the night with an older lady, who was, lets say, a little "slack"

He said "It was like putting my mickey in a bowler hat":D

Dont know if you have tied them or not, Lexie, but Ibruprofen are a good OTC alternative for Sciatic pain.
Might tide you over for a while

    Gee!

If you are near Kerry just before Christmas, the Church has a wonderful Live Crib. Really superb.

NB sad to say shoeboxes get robbed en route

NB I mean Duagh,, a good PP and some great community work going on...

I'm not really in favour of live cribs, think it stresses the animals :(

Re shoeboxes, how low will some people stoop? :(

Ah this one is dfferent and usually I would agree with you,. the PP came and chatted and all the critters are hand reared stars who love the attention they get. It i a large set up and utter peace. You never saw a more relaxed set of animals and he told me their history. Did I mention it was Duagh?

    Same animals every year

Yep re the shoe boxes,, we followed them one year and by the time they got to the right place they were empty of anything decent .. some stand a small chance if there is a big Irish driver alongside. The poor in thee countries are poor because of the corruption there. so it make sense. This is why I trade my handwork and send the money; we have a good supplier for food etc and that helps the local economy. If I send anything it is to family who make sure it gets to the right people

A small big thank you to all there.

Has been a very bad day here painwise and also as I posted elsewhere we lost a family member this weekend. A strong brave lady who has worked with the very poor all her life selflessly.Newly in India she accepted a cup of tea from a street vendor.

She died in Intensive Care from multiple organ failure as the water was heavily contaminated as it had been stored in drums previously used for ???chemicals??
We are shell shocked. Only 46. So totally unexpected. Investigations are ongoing

    Simplicity of pure water.

Just needed company today and bless you for being here and generally cheerful. ;) Dont want to start crying as I don't think I would ever stop. Know what I mean?

    Due painkillers thankfully

requiescat in pace and in lux eternam

Bedtime here.. blessings and peace to all there..

I'm TA'd by the T in the TTTAY thread because I usually post about things that really annoy me, and then I have to stop and think, hang on is this actually trivial?

Well, it's so rage-inducing that you can't be impartial as to it's degree of triviality, it is definitely worth posting about here. Let it out.
