Actually while were on the topic of cork anyone know the best way to get to Newmarket it seems to be a bit in the middle of nowhere near kanturk ? We will say if I was going from Ucc area what would be the best way to go?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭ofcork

I would think head to mallow, turn off left on the navigation road and take the right for kanturk a few km out.

Indeed, take the N72 from Mallow, take R579 turn off for Kanturk (not the first one for Kanturk which is the is the R576), than on to Newmarket.

One of the buddies goes down there is get his A4 looked after, he makes a day of it, brings the wife and child for lunch etc while there. Dunno why he won't use Blackwater Motors in the city, different strokes for different folks etc etc.

Nice one thanks for them directions. Yep it's Newmarket motors I'm going too. In fairness they seem incredibly sound my dad has been in contact with them for the last few days and they the salesmen seem so accommodating. Considering it's still a good drive from me I think I'll leave it to him to look at it as it would be completely out of my way home on Friday.

Navan is closed off thanks to a surprise visit from Enda Kenny. I've never seen as many garda in a while....

All I wanted to do is go to the f*cking pub

The sensible thing to do would be filling water balloons with wee and ambushing Edna crony, then come down to Ashbourne where ill have a bottle of gin for you and an alibi when the cops catch up with you lol

Actually raging about this  The mother had the Mondeo yesterday and today, and she caught a bollard today. She actually put black door paint over it, she was so embarrassed! It's really just the bumper that got it, a small bit of the metal got it. I know it's a bad pic, will get better tomorrow, but can the bumper be sanded back and resprayed. Any ballpark figure, I really want it flawless!

I'd say around 200 euro max. This reminds of my dad with my golf and the trailer fcuk me if he tried he couldn't of got more dents in the boot door although now it's fixed you'd never know it was damaged. Ah once you get someone decent you'll never notice. But it's a sh!t feeling when someone else damages your car feels worse than if you damaged it yourself for some reason.

For a proper job you'd want both panels done, could he looking at €500 pretty easily to do it right. Its the back of the car, yeah?

Yap just behind the back wheel on the passenger side. Wow 500! I'm assuming they could work with the bumper, i.e it doesn't need a new one?

Bumper is easy, its matching/blending the quarter panel that'll cost.

Wow, messing with a bit of maths there since the 530d went over 200k.
Saying that price has been on average €1.50 since it was born (accounting for the near €2 prove and then the fall to €1 at points) and saying its average around 38mpg...

She's burned near €36,000 in diesel or nigh on 24,000 litres!

    Interesting math there.
As a result, I went out to my chrysler, there's 110,000 miles on the clock. (10,000 on a 5 digit odo). AT an average of 7mpg that's 15714.28 gallons or ~71500 litres.

Can't really do the price comparison as most of that was "gas" and not petrol.

Well if it was in Irish money your looking at 112,500 euro!

Just scared myself by dividing the price of my diesel by the total mileage and mulling by my mileage to get €12,200 since March 2013!

Given that I see the quarter tank level as the red light level, I spend an unholy amount of money on fuel.

I know rationally that at a quarter tank, I've way more than that in it, but it gives me the willies so I regularly whack in petrol when it reaches that.

I'm the same I normally call it quiets when the needle hits a 1/4 tank. I just can't deal with letting it run lower than that. The only time I ever seen the fuel light on in the golf was when I test drove it when buying it. I haven't seen it since. Yet I know some people where there cars spend most of the time with the light on why would you bother it's not saving you any money.

Well really all you've spent is an extra one quarter of a tank in its lifetime with you.

I regularly let it right down to 0 or ---- as it likes to show when it gets worried.
