Without the pump, I've the belt removed.

I'm going to have to tackle it in the morning, I'll have to drive somewhere to get a pipe fabricated and I can fit it myself.

What else is on the belt routing?
Some cars can have the water pump on the belt

Nothing. Belt drives the Power Steering compressor and that's it. I've drove cars before where the belt has failed etc and you don't get any assistance but just wondering if the box rely on the compressor for lubrication or will I screw it up by just having the fluid sitting in the box.

Ded zebra. I've seen a stetascpoe being used in the nissan workshop manuals to try and source a knock. I'll send you it next time I'm on the computer.

    Right.....

So the mechanic just called about the Honda and the timing chain change progress.
Good news is the car is ready and is perfect.

I really hope it is indeed, considering that

Then there was the engine management light that would come on and cause the car to slump (I'm suspecting now that it could have been the injectors) - the mechanic plugged the computer in and nothing but errors were coming up.
As it was impossible to determine which code was causing the EML he just cleared them all and said to drive it until it comes back on and then to plug it back in.
And hope your expences won't go up because of that. :)

The total cost for this? 3.4k PLN so roughly 850e. I'm not sure how much it would cost me in Ireland but I'd guess around double that.
    More than likely. ;)

No sure the injectors need an electric pulse to know when to open :)

bear1 was talking about injectors and DZ replied to say he was disconnecting them.

Foot to the floor in first gear powering away from the blanchardstown centre.

Bluelights behind me. Pretty sure I didn't break the speed limit so confusion all round.... maybe he caught me on the Navan road doing a bit north of 80...

The biker-cop saunters up to the door. I drop the window and give my best look of contrition.

"Do you know your boot's open?"

    ****ing AGAIN!

Electronic boot locks are great things until you keep kneeing the release while you drive along.

Theres a few little noise troubleshouting guides in EM.pdf. One in quick guide (QG), one for the chain driven sr20 and another for the daysul. Might give you a few ideas at else what to look at.

MT is for manual transmission ;).

Just listed to it there. Sounds like a solenoid.

So I have a new theory about the Alfa engine. Could it be the chain that drives the oil pump that's got stretched? what would that sound like? Anyone have any ideas? It'll be a bastard to check...

One chap over on alfa owner is convinced that it's a slipped cam timing, another has suggested the hydraulic lifter seized closed

Really depends on the content off the footage.
If it's fast paced action, 720 at 60fps. If it's theatrical or focuses heavily on a nice, steady visual then go for 1080 at 30fps.

People get hung up about fps, Hollywood still shoot in 30. As long as it's not sport, it looks nicer.

It's a load of off-roading clips, (from fraser island :)) went with the 1080p/30fps in the end, looks slightly nicer overall..

    Cheers!

Had an annoying rattle in the glovebox for the last 6 months. Turns out it was 7cent that had made its way into a little compartment/shelf thing built into the lid.

I had a bic biro stuck between the bottom of the windscreen and the dash of my old van drive me mental for two months. Buzzed between 1900 and 2000rpm.

I was flicking through YouTube looking at a few car reviews. Looked at a few for the mk7 golf it seems to get really good reviews there was very little bad said about it I was surprised. It's my first time to look at a review for one.

No he's mad about whatever he currently owns :)

I remember when the Focus was the best thing going :)

I've not really warmed to the Mk7 and I don't know why.
Has anyone heard when the new Scirocco is going to be announced? Its overdue I should think.

Hopefully its a better effort than the new TT, which apparently is an all new car that they've somehow made look like a facelift model.

Ah no infairness that was never the best thing going. I probably liked it for the first month then had no interest in it. I'd of much preferred my astra to the focus golf beats them all though hands down.

I think my hatred for anything past the MK4 Golf lies with the fact that every rental car I ever had was a bloody base spec Golf mk5/6.

Mk5 entry level golfs are a horrible enough place to be.

My dad asked me today which would I prefer a Leon or golf van I know it was a stupid question :pac: although the Leon's are nice on the outside but a lot plainer on the inside than the mk7.

I cannot for the life of me shake an itch I have for a big engined e36 coupe!
Cheap as chips at the minute, I'm going to find it hard not to invest even though
I know the is200 is the correct choice :o

Yeah have wanted one after having a friends one, they are such a lovely car in every way. Cheapo replacement for the Astra, its a great great car but it'd bore you to tears!
the slightly madder option would be a 325 coupe e36 though :)

Sure either way as long as you're happy, but i dunno where i heard it, something like, 1 litre reliability, 2 litre tax, and 3 litre fuel consumption :pac:

From an IS200 or the E36?
The IS's are ridiculously reliable, which I don't mind paying the extra fueling on because of.
The bmw will probably break my heart alright because I'll constantly be wringing its neck. Overheating would be a big thing!
Ah I'll see in the next few weeks!

All you need is a 323 with a 2.8 manifold for 200+ with some other small bits, little rockets.
