The Pizza Mill in Greystones (now closed) was to this day the best pizza I ever had. My sister used to work there, so I know the recipe for the sauce and the dough, so it´s not bad!

Buy a Ristorante in Lidls and slap some extra cheese and ham on top. Bobs your uncle.

Hot Corner in Shercock, double pepperoni, double cheese.

I do like Base woodfire pizza in Ballsbridge and Terenure too.

I've heard great things about Pizza D'Or in Monaghan.

Can't stand the stuff meself, but there ya go.
    Pizza D'or in Monaghan

I've heard off people coming from Dundalk just for a pizza

Another vote for Pizza D'or in Monaghan. Beautiful crispy base, a brush of garlic and hot sauce makes for the best pizza ever.

Any friends of mine from Dublin love it and my sister's fiance from Scotland misses it when ge goes home. We also have french friends who visit us each summer and they are tighter than a cavan man but they insist on having Pizza D'or when they are here.

If you are in Monaghan for anything you need to get a pizza here, chips in the Monte Carlo or go for an Indian in Eastern Balti house.

I love my food and have eaten in lots of great places but those 3 are hard to beat.

Platform Pizza in Bray is amazing - they do one with goat cheese, mozzarella, pancetta, walnuts and maple syrup that is seriously delicious.

Milano did that pizza first, it was the winner of a design a pizza competition a good few years ago. I only remember because I got fierce excited at the prospect of maple syrup on pizza, fierce excited.

Dominos. Anyone saying otherwise is just trying to come across as sophisticated.

I'm not a huge pizza fan, but I find the odd one from Apache on Model Farm Road, Cork quite decent.

    Base Pizza in Terenure/Ballsbridge.

These kinda threads are always retarded. No one person can nominate the best in Ireland unless they're a really fat b*stard who travels the country staying in sleezy cum riddled lodges ordering pizza whist watching xfactor and columbo curled up in a moo moo.

Manifesto in Rathmines has won the World Pizza Championship twice, so I reckon they're in with a shout.

Was very disappointed with Manifesto, after hearing so much about what a fantastic pizza they did, thought it was a bit bland. Base in Terenure is far, far superior, although only a take away. Wood fired oven there too, but it's excellent. There was another award winning place in Ranelagh that closed down a few years ago. They were unbelievable but they were too pricey (probably why they went out of business).

I agree with the last poster who said the topic is far too broad for anyone to make a meaningful judgement. You'd have to have narrower areas where people have had a chance to try them all.

In fairness the right person could do a lot with a role like that. I'm thinking AA Gill meets Comic Shop Guy. :)

Last pizza I had was from a wood fired pizza thing on the side of the road. It was fcuking deadly.

Before that, there used to be a small place in a Dun Laoghaire called Don Mimi.....best iv ever had!

Dave's wood fired pizza? They're nice, pricey though!

Is that the French looking WWII style van or whatever that vehicle is? Got one of them in Greystones ages ago and it was one of the best things Ive ever eaten alright...

That reminds me, there is a guy down here who parks in the carpark of the local pub from 6 every Sunday who does the wood fired thing. He's usually sold out by 7.

Brezzies wood fired in portmarnock is lovely- diavola with smoked chicken! Yom

Also Pat's in letterkenny, they do one called Ireland's own with bacon, potato, herbs and cheddar cheese. Sounds odd but it's really tasty!

For a standard take out Apache in Carrick-on-Suir

Apache pizza is absolutely rank, no wonder it's only a tenner for a large one!

Da Mimmo on North Strand Street does excellent thin-base pizzas. Lots of flavour without having to use a ton of toppings.

Problem is you have to keep popping out to make sure your car's still in one piece.

    Great pizza, bad location.

From the wood-fired clay oven off The Bula Bus out the back of Billy Byrne's bar in Kilkenny. Is that specific enough :P

Honourable mention for Pizza Pasta Napoli too, not the most authentic but pretty savage after a lash of pints.

LOL. Pizza Napoli is the closest thing to authentic Italian pizza you'll get in Ireland.

Bistro Bianconi that used to be in Ranelagh was gorgeous.

Usually get Firehouse now myself, not amazing but fine.

The best pizza I ever had was a place on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn. Slices as big as your head for something like $5.

Wrong, it's very NY style....soft base, grated mozz. Any proper Italian pizzeria will have a crispy base and fresh mozz.

    Still very tasty tho
