If it was Cian Healy's house that's what they would have done. Easy pushing around a short old dude. Cowards.

So explain why they entered private property then and assaulted the homeowner?
    because they were dragged up

But were they? They had their barriers up against the gate. The householder opened the gates and tried to remove the barriers and the workers overbalanced onto the property. The worker was trying his best to keep the barrier in place OUTSIDE the gate, but was deterred by the violence shown by the householder.
the barrier was up against his gate blocking his gateway. they're was no violence from the householder but from your belovid irish water friends

The gate back to its natural level position.

They were encroached into his property from the get go. They were not on the path up to his gates as you put it.

    Bunch of paid thugs here.

    This.
A bunch of thugs, hired goons with no legitimacy. When the overwhelming supermajority of the people want you to to go and you don't then you are nothing but a thug , a goon who disrespects democracy.

Just like the quislings in Leinster House.
And just like the lame ducks in FF they replaced who fiddled, stroked and board stuffed while Dublin burned. They are the same. They all have to go. NOW.

Admittedly the barriers were slightly inside the mans gate, for His protection as much as theirs. Still doesn't excuse his behaviour. They are only doing their jobs and this agression from the householder is uncalled for and totally over the top. Mind you, he DID know he was being filmed!

No Mary the full barriers were inside his gate and the workers with them.

They were acting illegally. Did they ask the man could they work and trespass on his property?

Mary you are getting beyond ridiculous when the footage demonstrates exactly what they get up to.

only doing their jobs they would have asked permission to trespass. And if it wasnt received. MOVED ON to the next house. They have no need to go on like that. If the Meter isnt installed its IW problem not theirs.

They should not be acting as enforcers. But it seems you are ok with that. because somehow they were 'only doing their job' (badly)

Oh and i love how you blame the house holder for exercising his property rights, nice touch there.

to protect someone from you while you are tresspassing on their property, after you have been repeatedly asked to leave, is a protection racket.

even taking into consideration any notion of an implied right of access to the property, there is no doubt they were tresspassing on that mans property, and had no right to be there, and the point they were "protecting him", is utter nonsense.

Slightly, marginally or planted in the middle of his fúcking kitchen. It doesn't matter. They were on his property and obstructing him from closing his gate. The first instance we see in this video is him attempting to remove them from his property. And they came into his property and pushed him back. If his behavior isn't excused? Then what about theirs? He's only trying to get something he doesn't want off his property and the aggression from the workers is uncalled for and totally over the top. Mind you, they DID know they were being filmed!

Pushing and shoving innocent workers doing their legal job is ok in your World maybe, but it sure as Hell isn't in mine! Why did he wait for the cameras to roll before kicking off?

Eirgrid have right of access to your land.

    http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1927/en/act/pub/0027/sec0053.html#sec53

Wonder if there's a similar act for Irish Water, or if there is similar standoffs with Eirgrid.

ESB does it, but they have a code of practise.

In the end though they have right of access to your land no matter what you say.

sorry mary, but you are starting to look like a heavily vested interest to me.

if you insist on trying to justify these corporate goons actions, attacking an elderly enough householder, just to force an unwanted meter on a non consenting citizen, you could at least try to make it somewhat plausable that someone could even think such a notion. I don't believe that even you belive what you are saying.

they were trespassing on private property. the man had every right to remove them.

No he didn't. Just more fabricated law from the anti-everything crowd. You cannot attack someone because their barrier is protruding onto your property.
