    Saw Roscommon win Sam Maguire in 1944 and they never won again

    Nice age to get to! Born before independance, first 50 years of his life he witnessed some amount of events! I hope someone documented his memories at some stage id say he had great stories to tell!

    If you had read the link in the OP - Co Roscommon retains the distinction of being home to Ireland’s oldest man. Michael Lambert, from Ballintubber, turned 107 last month. The two men, who were born a year and less than 20 miles apart, met for the first time during the summer, when Mr Lambert dropped into Cloverhill to chat about the old days .

    He was the oldest and he died, it says death of the oldest citizen, always one. :rolleyes:

    Relative of mine made it to 115, used to walk 6 miles a day just to pop into mass.
    Some say it was the walking that killed him.

    Was noted to be the oldest person in the English speaking world at time.
    Lived mostly as a vegetarian and grew all his own greens.
    - So didn't have any pink-slime-burgers or 2.5ghz wifi signals to bother with.

    Ireland's oldest man but not oldest person - Margaret O'Connell from Kildare was 109 in February.

    No, a 24 year old dog, to the dog would be about 3 and a half in human years.

    Funny. The opposite here, can't believe I have near three decades of work ahead of me.

    And my dad spend his last few years work looking forward to retirement , he retired, brought us all out for dinner to celebrate. Then he passed away suddenly six months after retiring.

    That's where you have it all wrong. I'm retired and it is the best time of my life. I can do anything I want, when I want. I have zero stress and can enjoy all the great things in life. The more years in retirement the better.
