Revenue.. Like, they never give you too much money by mistake.

They did for me once, got twice the amount I should have. I pointed it out at the time and they said no it's correct, it was on their "system". Then I get a letter a month later saying they want the money back or they will take legal action. Had it spent and all at that stage.

    Hoods!!

Any hooded garment you buy these days seems to come with a fifteen gallon head covering attached, which hangs down over your face making you look like some demented gregorian chanter.

The problem I have is finding a hood that will actually cover my head, they barely go past my hair line and I have no fringe. Must have a massive head or something.

Jesus, with a head that big, you must be the apple of your poor mother's eye:D

I like to pretend that I'm an assassin when I put the hood of my army surplus coat up.

Mistakes are never their fault either according to them. I contacted the Department of Social protection to get a letter of proof of where we lived for the local school. When they sent the letter they got my childs date of birth wrong, I gave them a ring and according to them it was all my fault and I would have to write letters to the appropriate people. I finally sorted it out and it was their fault but I had to jump through hoops and get stressed just to prove it.

When you're trying to talk logic and reason with thickos and all they do is deny and divert attention away from the original subject/issue. There's nothing more sad or pathetic imo.

Being able to tell when someone calls your phone that they want something. Literally only ever hearing from them because they want a loan of money, me to drive somewhere, or to mind their child on my days off.

Not a word then until the next time. I dodged the call there, but will answer when she calls back with a "go **** yourself".

    I'm in great form today

You know when you sometimes end up having a conversation with a stranger in public. Maybe they ask you for the time, or how to use the ticket machine at the Luas or whatever and a little conversation ensues, most likely about the weather or the Luas or something equally boring. That's fine, I don't mind that, but do you ever notice that when this happens everyone within listening distance starts craning their necks and listening in, eyes wide and ears cocked as if you and this stranger were discussing the juiciest, most salacious thing they had ever heard in their lives

I think someone may have mentioned it in this thread already but saw it for myself over the weekend. Someone visiting my neighbour had one of those baby on board type stickers on their car but this one was personalised for their kid and said 'James on Board'

How I didn't key the car, smash in the back window and let the tyres down I do not know

Vel I saw one with "Cian on board" and I felt the exact same irrational rage

I think the driver should be fined for driving a car with these stickers....and double that fine if they have the sticker displayed, but no kid of that name in the car.

    Baby on board.
Translation: I am a **** driver so be extra aware.

Cause that's what I read when I see one.

I saw "Tadgh On Board". All I could think of was that kid is gonna have a hard time in the future getting foreign people to pronounce his name

Think it's safe to say that unless said baby on board is actually driving the car, the rest of us don't give a flying ****

I read, "my baby is a more important being than other humans. i expect that you drive more carefully now that you know he is here than you would normally".

    Either that or "ha-hah I have a ba-beee, I'm great" :P

    1. People who reverse into slant parking spaces.

    2. People who don't reverse into all other parking spaces.

Yes! They are delighting in your small talk misery and enjoying the fact that it's not them. I hate when this happens. A while ago on the luas I gave this woman my seat because she had a baby with her. if it had been in a buggy I wouldn't have bothered but the poor little guy was in a sling on her chest so I could just imagine him getting crushed when the tram filled up. So the mother was really happy and that was grand, the cute baby smiled at me and I felt all altruistic and good about myself as I stood beside them but then....God decided to punish my good deed...didn't the little fecker start poking at a shiny buckle on my handbag. Not that I minded but then the mum said, "oh he is really into textures at the moment". "Ah" I said, nodding sagely and smiling. Baby kept poking and she kept smiling up at me. So I smiled at him again. She was still smiling. She went between smiling at him then at me. Then he started gurgling and there was more smiling. I felt like fúcking gurgling myself with the awkwardness of the whole thing! Where was the line between ignoring her and her baby (and being generally rude and not caring about his textural learning phase) and smiling at him like a psycho?? :( Of course, everyone else was fúcking smiling too :(

Christmas food ads. Now don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a good Christmas ad, in December, but looking at ads with people cooking Christmas dinner in November really irritates me. It's not as if people are going to forget to shop for Christmas dinner.

Is that because you won't be able to fit through the door? Irish mammies and their cunning plans.

I can't be the only one that leaves food shopping until Xmas eve? Anyway, I'm so prepared for Xmas this year it's not even funny. I thought Xmas would be grand this year keeping myself distracted but seeing Xmas ads and hearing Xmas songs already and seeing decorations everywhere gives me that sick to the bottom of my stomach feeling.
