Cheers lads. Knew in my heart and soul it wasn't going to be Garth Brooks but I still held a light for him all the same. Here's hoping he comes back at some stage. Slane would be great for GB.

Croke Park residents will sleep soundly the night the gig is on - The Script music nearly sends me to sleep!

Slane for Garth Brooks??, in the words of Joe Duffy, "welcome to Funny Friday"

Even with official confirmation, I still refuse to believe it's not U2

    Richard Chambers tweeted this:

O Donoghue says they met Pharrell "before he did anything himself". Wait? What?

    Bland muck.

€80 for tickets, getting a bit carried away with themselves aren't they?

Is this what it's come to? Expecting everyone to shell out for bland, anemic, formless crap that wouldn't be out of place on the Grays Anatomy soundtrack?

massive anti climax - like its good pr to build up the gig but seriously the script - and pharrell supporting is ridiculously random!! Understand hoozier, kodaline & the script - all irish and that but pharrell is random!!

i suppose have to pray for Laois football as my only chance to visit croker next year - def wont be heading to see this

June 20th, will be shocked if there's a second date announced.

I hope the residents are happy with themselves. They have screwed us all over big time.

Our 'big music gig' for Ireland in 2015 is The Script with Pharrell supporting. FFS.

Really don't get the hate for The Script..

They're a decent pop rock band, probably a lot better than Coldplay(now they're bland!) both live and on record.. Put on a damn good show too!

Pharrel is an awful support choice.. But it's good to see an Irish band get this big a shot!!

They can't get anyone else to fill it. Have to feel sorry for them.

AC/DC will be in Slane and the Foos will be in Ireland over the summer..

Theres plenty more 'big gigs' to come.

Croke Park has always had the safe act. Don't see why people are surprised..
