I am trying to get my head around how Terry comes across to you as "probably more a realistic Garda" than that of Kieran, considering that Kieran is a real (undercover) Garda. I am sure Kieran has given the producers a few pointers to help create more realism, in the same way as Carolan got advice and tips from those involved in gangland criminality when he began his writings for Love Hate.
Terry comes across as someone who is just fed up with their job (any job) and is looking to get out.

Yes I know he is a real life Garda. He is also an actor following a script, developing a character. I just thought it was a bit unrealistic to be that chipper about doing overtime for nothing, given the hours these guys already put it - coming off a 12 hour shift you're going to turn around enthusiastically and say yes no worries I'll stay going! For free? No problem! Really?!

Terry in my view portrays a Garda who is sick and tired of chasing these guys, having seen them arrested, and then get off on technicalities, and suspended sentences etc. I have friends and cousins who are in the Gardai - I have heard of the frustration of building up a case and collecting evidence against people who they know are criminals, to walk free. Darren in series one got off because the wrong date was on the warrant. John Boy was in and out of the courts, Nidge is in this game years and for all this surveillance they have yet to pin anything concrete on him.

Its just my view at the end of the day.

Was Siobhan always heavy into drugs before this season?

She was always more into getting drunk, as has been portrayed in earlier seasons. I think the drugs were more Paulie's influence.

was Donna raped at some stage aswell, am remembering some scene in a pub after hours and they were all wasted and Donna went down to basement for a fag and I thought she was raped down there? were they not all afraid she would go to the cops over it and telling Siobhan to talk her out of it.

No, the above describes what happened Siobhan. Donna was threatened by both Nidge and Fran to stay quiet about what she knew about the rape of Siobhan.

Are you the political correctness police? Jesus, its not like im using it in that context and people who just go around saying "im offended by that" are what's wrong with the world.

Am i allowed say cúnt brigade then? I mean it the same way - as in ****ing eejits.

So what context did you use it in? When you used mong as a derogatory term, what was your context. Did you really not mean to imply that this brigade were like a crowd of people with intellectual disabilities, and that it was a huge insult from you to imply that they were a crowd of people with intellectual disabilities? If you have some other context, I'd be glad to hear it.

Just to help you in future, here's a little guidance from the US about use of 'retard', and when and how it can be used appropriately.

The poster didn't set out to offend anyone. He clearly said he meant eejits, so what's with your high and mighty ''if you have some other context, I'd be glad to hear it''. Clearly said he meant eejits. He also didn't use the word 'retard' at all, so your link is off point and your tone is very condescending. Also this isn't the US, we don't need to follow their moral values.

PS Nidge said the word Knackers in the last episode, did you get on RTE's case over that one?

Her teeth are horrific. You'd think she'd had made enough money over the last 5 seasons to pay 2/3k to get braces!

yeah right, if she was done up to the nines on Saturday night with that body etc and ya shagged her, you'd be telling your mates of the stunner you pulled!

her body is savage and she's a nice face. any man with a horn can see that,
nowdays any girl who has her own teeth is lambasted ha ha ha.

so you'll be enjoying I'm a celebrity then when it comes on, all fake tits and vaneers!!!

Anyone think that Aido might turn. The Scottish policeman might bring him in but when Aido finds out about him and Nadine, go all pear shaped. Probably a bit too predictable.

I think we should have a picture of GrumPy's perfect pearly whites - purely for research/comparison purposes, obviously.

Otherwise we have nothing by which to benchmark his/her idea of "horrific" :D

And what's not bizarre is that predictably, the discussion of the male actors is all about their acting ability, while the women have their appearances dissected.

Personally, I think Trish is a fantastic actor, realistically portraying a woman who has become accustomed to a certain lifestyle, while ignoring the source of it and who is now realising that it means nothing when you're isolated in your marriage and lovely house. Siobhan's conflicted loyalty to Tommy, hatred of Nidge and desire to be needed are resulting in her wanting to escape. Her spiralling out of control is well done and shows how the women in gangland survive.

Trish's acting was amazing during that scene in episode 2 where she confided in Nidge about feeling lonely. Her best scene to date.

Eh........these people are actress'. That is they act the characters of a brothel madam and a gangsters wife (and very well too)
They are not a brothel madam and a gangsters wife.

Actors and actresses, had they a high enough profile are often photographed and used for publicity for various products and used in articles in general. It's up to themselves as to what jobs they take but one would assume that they'll try to maximise their income over a career by doing shots such as this.

The media themselves are just using two popular people right now.

Do you suggest that the media never do features on actors and actress' that have played the parts of villans, bad girls, etc etc etc?
