RTÉ have come out saying that they've no plans to bring it back "In response to Connors' Virgin Media interview, an RTÉ spokesperson said: "There are no plans for a new series of Love/Hate. Fans can watch all five series on RTÉ Player."

John Connor's released a video on his Instagram saying that it won't be on RTE, that it'll be on Netflix and they're shooting back to back seasons and he said that Nidge is alive and they'll be releasing more info on "Sons of Katie" podcast.

Not sure if I believe him.

He's quoted in the press today (well, in the Sun, if you can call that rag press) as saying it's not happening.

I think it’s a bit of made up “Get me noticed” by John Connors. If it was really happening it would be controlled and released properly for maximum impact, and certainly not on the afternoon show or whatever Brian Dowling was presenting.

I’m sure Conor’s talks to people and says “yeah let’s make it happen”, but this has zero credibility to it whatsoever.

John Connors thinks he is a great actor but all he had done is the token traveller bit part in various shows with isnt great acting. Add to that his politics your "anti traveller" if you disagree with him on his views on abortion and LGBT rights. Heck he was even anti Pavee Point saying they were anti traveller.

This announcement reeks of trying to get his name in the headlines in an attempt to get some work.

It sounds more like the film Cardboard Gangsters rather than Love/Hate if Connors is involved, which was awful compared to L/H.

JC has a film coming out around now called when wolves howl or something like that. I don't know if it's in cinemas or elsewhere but mention of it on tiktok suggests it's about how tusla are all about separating children from their parents

I've heard from an extremely reliable source this is complete bullshit. It's notcoming back.

Connors said it for attention and the websites are running it for clicks.

If he was lying about it for attention, given the detail he was talking in (ie. Netflix, filming two seasons back to back etc), then he's even more of a gomb than I thought he was.

There's also talk of conor mcgregor being involved? Now I can't remember the exact details but didn't himself and john connors have a public row on twitter some years ago but I'm sure that can be forgotten if CMcG bankrolls the project.

I still agree with whoever says it's all for attention and nothing will likely come of it this year or next anyway

So he went from a discussion with the creator about how people still talk about the show, to "It's coming back, we're filming series six and seven back-to-back, it'll be on Netflix, I'm joining the writing staff, Nidge might be back too, and there'll be a press release about it tomorrow." Absolutely none of which is in any way true.

Even if it did come back there's no way Nidge could have survived, Siobhán maybe but whoever was making it probably wouldn't have the budget for Tom Vaughan Lawlor or Charlie Murphy. There's a reason why john connors is the only "actor" who's still talking about it. It was a great show and very much of it's time but to bring it back now after more than 10 years could never do it justice.
