An Irish player, lets call him X played for the Blues. He then moved to a club who wear red. As an international player, he scored most of his international goals against a team that wears red

Don Givens had hat-tricks against both USSR and Turkey, I think.
And I believe he wore the blue of QPR.

    Nope

    Nope

He did move from Home Farm to Liverpool and did score against Luxembourg and Russia both who wear red and he only has 3 international goals! Although I know Russia were not wearing red at the time when he scored in the Euros. Not sure about Luxembourg and I think his other goal might have been against France. Steve Finnan moved from Birmingham to Liverpool and has one goal against Spain but also has one against Cyprus. Thinking there might be more than one possible answer to this one?

There is more than one answer but this particular person has a link to the previous answer

Jeez this thread is getting fierce complicated these days. Apologies, didn't see your original question back a few posts which I'll repost for all here whilst acknowledging that the connection is with Jackie Milburn (correct?):

Name an Irish man who went from the blues to the reds but loved scoring against a team in red?

(Hope I haven’t further complicated things! Think we need to simplify this back to it’s origins as set out by wesleysniper38)

Your summary of the question is correct

It's still not a question in sprit of the thread, from my understanding of the thread. The question does not directly have to relate to the previous question but use it more as a guidance, ie. next question can be on football, sport, Ireland even, etc. Using links between questions as a method of identifying a particular answer is not in spirit of the thread. Remember these questions are meant to be something you could find at a table quiz or whatever. not half riddles

John/Jack Peden played for Linfield (the Blues) as did Jackie Milburn. He then transferred to Newton Heath (who wore red at the time) 6 of his 7 international goals were scored against Wales (who wear red) It is claimed that he was the first Irish player to establish a link with what is now known as Man Utd. This question (phrased pretty much as I did) came up at the last quiz I was at. I hadn't a clue but the person at the table next to me knew it.
Maybe someone else will come up with a better question

Okay. Don't think I am out of order here by asking a question and getting us off again.

Which national soccer team is known as the Red Devils?

Belgium. If I'm right, who won the most recent (2014) Belgian Grand Prix?

If any of you are setting questions for a quiz with big prizes and including some of the recent soccer questions here, can I respectfully suggest that you quietly sneak away home before the distribution of the prizes?

Got that. It would appear that Belgium along with Belarus and South Korea are all correct. Prizes will be withheld until next weeks quiz. Although to the lady who won the box of ferrero rocher in the raffle... ...your prize is safe.

I was looking for Belgium, any of the above would have done.
