Best of luck at the weekend, Lemon.

I enjoy this log more than any other on boards.

You're a great inspiration to those of us who aren't very young or very skinny.

You've trained like a demon for this one, I'm confident you'll smash it.

    Keep her lit.

Keeping her lit in Amsterdam... you'll fly through it ;)
Enjoy the city and best of luck come race day.

Have been following this log from the beginning & the progress has been remarkable. Just goes to show what a good coach & putting in the hard work can do. No doubt it'll have a happy ending.

The support and goodwill on here is fantastic. Really appreciate it. If I could bottle that encouragement I'd be on for a sub 2.30! Amsterdam and "happy endings" may be synonymous but hopefully it'll extend to the race tomorrow. :)

Sitting on the plane now in Dublin waiting to take off, apprehensive and excited at the same time.

The drama of the marathon. 3 hours waiting to see if a PB happens by 30 seconds. Well done.

A few pints and a bit of a chill out before coming to any conclusions.

+1 to that. You are not the first and won't be the last to have a tough day at the office ....as Yaboya would say that is the beauty of the marathon that keeps us all coming back.

Don't forget that a PB is a PB so don't be too hard on yourself. Well done..enjoy the rest of the trip.

PS....red carpet has been cleaned and is ready for your St Anne's parkrun debut so let us know when we need to roll it out:)

Nice job, hoss. I understand the immediate feeling if you missed the A goal but a PB's not to be sniffed at! Look forward to hearing the details.

I like this reaction. That's how I'd feel too. But as the others have said, chill for a bit now. Have a couple of pints even if you're flying home later and you'll come back next year.

Chin up, we've all been there.

Knew you wouldn't be when I saw the time. I don't think the time reflects the progress you've made this cycle but I guess that's what the running Gods decided upon today. Enjoy your holiday with the family and get some r'n'r. After that you'll be back full of renewed enthusiasm for another crack at it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,610 ✭✭✭yaboya1

The marathon is a c*nt. Such a hard race to crack/master/get exactly right.
However, that's what makes it all the sweeter when you do have that magical day when everything falls into place.

Although you're disgusted now, you still ran a PB. Think about it. That alone represents massive progress. Well done.

All the skittles didn't line up for you today.
You did all you could as regards preparation suck's when you don't get the reward but its still a PB.

Tough luck TbL but as you've said yourself in the past a PB is a PB. Enjoy the beers!

Unlucky TbL, bad day at the office, we all have them. Get back on the horse & go again. You have a better time in you, your training shows that. Enjoy your pints & reflect when everything settles. I'd kill for that time by the way.
