I'd fancy him in matchplay. Hopefully he gets a nice cheque and improves his ranking.

Shane is seeded 11th and has been drawn with Dubuisson (11:15 Wednesday), Gallacher (13:09 Tuesday) and Larrazabal (11:51 Thursday).

Nice money even for showing up and guaranteed ranking points as well with only 16 players!

    Winner €650,000

    Runner Up €330,000

    3rd €210,000

    4th €160,000

    Losing quarter-finalists €100,000

    Third in group €75,000

    Last in group €50,000

Nice money, shame no sign on tv yet considering there is only 16 players in

Are SKY taking the piss with the coverage of his match?

Standard sky coverage unfortunately. Shane back to up after 11.

    Shane 2up thru 11.
Nice position. 3 par 5's in final 7 holes should see him with an edge.

It seems as if Gallacher is playing the invisible man. Back to just 1 in it after 12.

Bogey free from Shane so far with 4 birdies, good tight match.
Only 1 par 4 in the last 6 holes, unusual!

Shane played fantastic golf today. If he plays like that tomorrow against Dubuisson, it should be some match.

I was wondering how they would resolve ties in a group and I found the following on the tournament's website. In the event of a tied group, a sudden-death play-off will ensue to determine the group winner/runner-up. I guess if there's a tie for 3rd and 4th, they'll just split the prize money.

If they spilt the prize money I wonder would they both finish tied 9th for world ranking points.
This would push the tied 13th players down a place.

Great play by Shane yesterday. Should be a great match with Dubuisson today. C'mon Shane!

I'd say that players tied for 3rd and 4th in a group would be regarded as finishing behind players who finish 3rd on their own and ahead of players who finish 4th. So, if there is just one tie, those players would finish 12/13th for world ranking purposes and the three 4th place finishers would be ranked 14/16th.

I think that's the only way it could be done for world ranking purposes. It would be consistent with the way the prize money is distributed. On the subject of prize money, I presume the amount that counts for Race to Dubai purposes will be restricted to 16.6666% of the total prize fund to the winner, 11.1111% to the runner up and so on.

Yeah its only fractions but it could make the difference to Shane for top 50 come year end.

Looks like Lowry might HAVE to beat Dooby - Pablo is shaping up to give Steve an awful skutchin!
