If two or more players are tied on points after all matches are played then their specific head to head match result will be used to determine which player is placed higher in the group. After which, if two or more players are still tied for one of the two qualifying positions within the group then those players will compete in a hole-by-hole play-off.

I was wondering how they would resolve ties in a group and I found the following on the tournament's website. In the event of a tied group, a sudden-death play-off will ensue to determine the group winner/runner-up. I guess if there's a tie for 3rd and 4th, they'll just split the prize money.

Looking at it again I seems they will use head to head before a playoff.

By the way, if there's a three way tie on two points, each player must have beaten one and lost to one of the other two players, so a playoff would definitely be required to determine both first and second place.

If its a three way tie on 2 pts the play off would be for second place not first and second. If 3 players get 4 pts then you'd have a play off for first and second.

The Europeantour link either contradicts the sponsors page or gives more information. We'll know tomorrow. Dont depend on Bruce Critchley to get it right though :pac:

Sorry, I was forgetting it's 2 points for a win. My answer was based on two wins. But the same principle applies.

Funny that the official Volvo website doesn't mention the head to head rule.

Yeah it would make more sense wouldn't it. Anyway big game for Shane tomorrow. He was really agitated for the whole match today. I fancy him to bounce back tomorrow and make the last 8. A good start is vital.
