I don't care how much protein is in it, quinoa does not taste good.

Does kale need to be in everything? Spinach tastes much better.

What other food trends need to die?

I eat pretty much anything, as long as it's served on a plate.

    Not a fcuking roof tile!!!

    Pulled pork.
Tasted it for the first time yesterday and thought the BBQ sauce it was covered in was sickly. Whole concept is done to death now.

    Gluten free bull****.

Genuine coeliacs must hate being lumped in with these gluten free frauds.

Though I suppose their selection has increased a lot as a result.

I can't keep up with food trends anymore. First they said fat was bad, eat more carbs. They scoffed at high protein low carb diets. Now they say eat more protein and less carbs and that fat is friendly and sugar is evil. *Sigh, make up your mind boffins, make up your minds.

Gluten free, (for the people that just claim they're intolerant or whatever), yawn

I ****ing sick of every cafe in Dublin having a vintage look. 20 years ago you could barely get a coffee in the city, never mind a proper cafe. Every cafe in Dublin looks the same

Have to agree with gluten free. Most of the idiots don't even know what gluten is.

I love pulled pork, but it lives and dies by the sauce (and often the fixins').

    Theres bloody pulled pork everywhere

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I think part of the problem with a lot of the gluten free crowd is that they are really on a low-carb diet but don't want to say that, so they claim gluten free instead. That said, I know a lot of people who aren't celiac, but have autoimmune disorders or other long-term health issues who have experienced significant improvements in their health by going gluten free (and dairy free, in some cases).

And to think up until it was trendy it was just a way of getting the last bits of meat/chicken off the carcass.:D

I do know what gluten is. Gluten is a vague term. It’s something that’s used to categorize things that are bad. You know, calories, that’s a gluten. Fat, that’s a gluten. Gluten means bad sh** man, and I’m not eating it.

Serving food on wooden boards. This is a pet hate of mine. Has to be less hygienic than plates. Ruins dinner for me.

Also, steak on a stone. Must have been an accountant that came up with the notion of going to a restaurant & then cooking your own dinner, complete with the stink and heat and fat spatters. Trying to keep one eye on it while you are eating. Cooking tiny little pieces. It's all wrong & pointless.

Chips, or fries if you're under 25, in those miniature metal buckets. Fuck off and stay fucked off.

Pulled pork like you get in KFC or most of the other places here is terrible. Tastes nothing like the american version.......yummy!

Drinks being served in jam jars. Usually in overpriced hipster places serving burgers, fried chicken and cheap cuts of steak. A glass works. Glasses are a great way of serving drinks.

I REALLY hate the trend of 'stretch your food' food like pulled pork, meatloaf, pot roast, or other forms of comfort food for people on a budget being sold in restaurants at 'regular' prices. Sorry, the whole point of these dishes is that you are using scraps or the cheapest cuts of meat and then filling them out with cheap grains and starches.

    It's actually not.

Wooden chopping boards are more hygenic than plastic/other types.
