Links Dreams

Everyone is still asleep on the east.
The dew still unprinted by foot.
A sun red, in an autumnal rising.
True shadows of the links can be seen

Just prior to that moment of rest
You see your last shot – your best
The smiles and golfing friend’s faces
Your victories, your losses, missed aces

This man lies rested, has seen and found all
Had courses and coasts to himself
Made great shots and poor – friends in the course
But can dream them all up again now
