wax/grease on bullets

hi all,wondering is it better to wipe off the wax/grease coating that do be on bullets?referring to .22 ammo,,thanks lads,

It'll break your heart trying that for every 50 rounds in a box. IOW it'd get tiring VERY fast.

The better solution would bee to buy rounds that don't have it.

The wax/lube serves a purpose. Are you sure you want to go that route seeing as how the manufacturer put it there?

Hi sniperman,is there a specific reason to removing the wax ?

hi lad.only reason i asked,is when i put the bullets in my pocket,they seem to get bits of grit stuck to them,tried leaving them in the box,but the rattling sound when walking about could be heard a ways off,bunnies on my permissions have big ears:D

If it really bothers you and you wanted a silent way of carrying them you could get a cartridge belt. :pac::)

Or buy a couple of mags, a bullet pouch, etc. Plenty of alternatives rather than trying to strip the wax/lube.

Do not remove the wax, this lubes and lines the bore, creating far higher accuracy. Get some spare mags, even 2 spare 10 mags, as you are hardly shooting at more than 25-30 big eared rabbits in one go ?

Just carry them in a dirt cheap zip lock bag and never mind the grit in your pocket.

Do not remove the wax.Bullet makers go to great trouble to wax their bullets in order to seal any gaps between the bullet and the barrel as it travels down the barrel.

A mate of mine had a bum bag and put in a box or two and walk about no noise clip it off when finished job done.
