anyone else working during the weekend, how you finding it so far?

One thing I also am working on and I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE TO DO SO AS WELL IF YOU ARE NOT SURE OR HAVE NOT PICKED OUT YOUR COURSE, TO START NOW!!
I have a friend who is in 6th year and he is still not sure about what course to pick, he is freaking out, thinking of changing subjects etc.
On top of that he has to study for the lc.
So I am making a list of all the courses I am interested in, in various categories such as Sports,Business,Health etc. and then narrowing them down more until I come to at least 15 or less because as far as I know you can only choose 10 courses on your cao options list.
So you have this entire year to pick your courses and decide, I usually do around 30 mins every Sunday, so looking forward to having my 10 or 15 courses picked out by January. Not only you pick courses, but I get info on them as well, the pay scale, the job opportunities, requirements.
So my advise would be to start picking now if you have not made your mind up.

working as in a job or homework/study ?

Another thing is that I suffer from OCD, I always have a need to clean my whole house every week, check over my copies and basically all my surroundings that are inside my house.
Over the summer I did out the whole chemistry notes and homework copy all over again, just because I found my other one messy.
So my weekends are not always the most enjoyable, I always want to play with my brother outside, but I never have time.
All we get time for is to watch tv when I eat breakfast and at dinner time.
Other then that I am busy either cleaning, setting my school stuff.

I actually have none I tried all summer but no one would take me! I didn't get this job until the end of summer just because I knew the person opening up a place. It's really about who you know because no one our age has any experience :( if your school do work experience in 5th maybe go somewhere you think would be likely to hire you after like a supermarket? That often happens. Apart from that I don't know sorry :/

....as far as I know you can only choose 10 courses on your cao options list.
10 at Level 8 (Honours degree level) and 10 at Level 6 / 7 (separate lists).

While it's a very good idea to be thinking ahead and doing a bit of research, don't get too het up about it; you will probably change your mind about what you want to do 20 times before you actually make your final choice.

So you can have upto 20 ?
Sorry if its a stupid qs.

Yes, but they are 2 separate lists.

Most people will be concentrating on the Level 8 list and this is what people tend to obsess about in terms of juggling choices and trying to make up their minds.

You will get an offer from each list (if you qualify for one) but you can only accept one of them obviously. Again, most people accept their Level 8 offer rather than their Level 6 / 7, but the latter can be a useful back door into what they want if they missed it in their Level 8 list. Many Level 6 / 7 courses have an option to transfer to a top-up to Level 8 Hons degree afterwards if you get a good result. It might take a little longer, but you still get there.

Anyone can give me advice on wether to take on HL English or not.
I am doing All HL apart from Italian which I dropped down this year, as I have no interest in doing a course to do with languages.
If I am not interested in any journalism or those kind of courses would you recommend me to do O level as I am not planning to consider English or Italian as part of my 6 subjects, in fact I will be doing very little study of them.
Will I have any drawbacks with doing O Level English and Italian in the future for career wise or courses apart from those journalism and languages ??
    English
    Maths
    Biology
    Chemistry
    Business
    Italian (O)

English is a core subject. I'm sure a lot of employers would be unimpressed if you just scrap a pass on OL English. Be ambitious and aim for the best result you can get.

Yeah that is the thing I am worried about.
But I def think I can reach C1 and above in O level English easily.
In my JC I done HL, I done none and I mean none of the studied questions in p2 and none of the media qs. and I ended up with a D.

Employers don't care much about your Leaving Cert results. Your degree is a lot more important to them.

Yeah, I'm sure that's true. But what happens if you're looking for a job whilst studying for your degree? I'm sure most students these days do some sort of part-time job, so presentable Leaving Cert results might be important.

Although, I know there will be a lot of employers that don't care, and only care about your experience and skills. But it'd be handier to have a higher standard of English on your CV than OL because it's easy.

9 subjects is a lot for LC; you're putting a lot of pressure on yourself and splitting your energies.

History and biology are quite similar, they both require you to know the facts and spew them out.

In history you have to write essay answers, and do a project worth a decent amount of marks.
