Well it's in kk so bit of a trek. Plus private sale won't be any good unless I get rid of current car first which could take time!

Go look at my old one if it's still for sale, guy who bought it off me has a 350bhp golf gti before he went to aus.

If nothing else it will set a benchmark of what a decent one is like to drive.

Ah I don't know no front heated screen would put me of yours :pac:

In all seriousness though I'd say it was a fair machine with all the upgrades and work you put into it looked so clean too.

I'll never get my head around the weird spec on them though considering there at the high end of the focus range you'd think even in basic form an st would have a good spec. All focus vans came with heated front screens a standard and somehow ford thought they shouldn't be standard on the basic st bit mad really.

Haha I'll see if I can find d someone willing to burn it out for me! Think I'd prefer a standard one too for insurance purposes but your one does look lovely in fairness. You looking at getting another? Why he selling so quick again.

Oh speaking of windscreens, the front heated one in my focus was replaced at some stage with a non heated one  Anyone have a rough idea on what a heated one would cost. Don't know if I could be bothered changing it, maybe if I go smashy smashy.... insurance... something hit my car.... :pac: (Btw, I wouldn't do that)

    Ford Ireland.

UK base spec one was higher spec, in Ireland everything was an optional extra.

Wish id driven a modified one before buying mine standard and spending 3k on modification.

Plan after xmas is 400+bhp V70R with the RS engine if funds allow, mmm forged internals.

I put one in my focus I know different window but just so you get a rough idea. It was a heated screen I got as a replacement and afaik the autoglass receipt said around 200 euro or slightly less which I though was cheap enough. I think the guy said a plain glass window was only about 50 cheaper so not much of a difference really.

The only thing is I recon the heated screen cracks a bit easier as it's just 2 thin layers of glass. But then with insurance it doesn't make a whole lot of a difference. I was behind a truck and it only threw up a small stone wasn't even a loud bang and the window went in sh!t two foot crack accross it.

Is there a heated windscreen switch?

If it has one I'd claim damage off the insurance before the winter...

There nice during the winter alright I often leave for college at 5 in the morning you'd come out and the focus would be completely covered in ice and it would literally only take one minute to clear. Seriously heavy on power though you'd even notice it in the headlights slightly when you press the button and the alternator takes the load.

I could've sworn the last time i saw your focus a stone hit your windscreen from the back of a truck and made a Crack.

If i was you I'd ask the insurance for a replacement. ......

Ya it has the switch and all, so I'd rather it working. The Mondeo has it, and it's come to be a necessity.....

Actually wait no, it's only third party :o bums

Sometimes it can be included. Have a read over the policy.

Could be included noccy, I would still chance asking or looking into it.

On another related note driving up from the country at newlands cross I was behind a honda accord with a 10-ts-liam reg over its real reg plate. I'm happy your in the all ireland, but I really hope you get pulled over and f**ked out of it by an guard, although says alot he'd clearly driven for two hours without meeting a guard.

The toll is a tax at this stage.
The bridge has been paid for 50,000 times I've at tho stage. The toll is just robbery.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,845 ✭✭✭Noccy_Mondy

Having to pay a toll every day would drive me skits! That's one good thing about living in a backward place :D

True but with the toll you have a choice. That's why I don't mind it.
Although I've no reason to complain because I've been tax free for 5 months now.

(I'm sure I'll regret saying that here and the high horse brigade will be after me )

I know I mention this a few times in the past, but if you are in or near Dublin and like high end cars, classics, and rare American and Japanese imports then come to Cars and coffee in Cherrywood tomorrow, starts at 11:00.

I had forgotten about it! but I'll probably come on out. I assume I'll see you there :)

No point in me mentioning it and not showing up myself, that would be rude:)

My car never makes it into any of the photos so my plan this time is to park it beside something nice so it can photo bomb :pac:

I'll be there about 11.30, so I'll probably see you. Looks like the weather will be fairly good so I hope there's a good turnout :)
