It's no harm to a person. It's one aspect of a house that could be anywhere

Totally agree and it could prevent harm to some person by highlighting dangerous installations. It is always useful for professionals to identify and publish poor workmanship. I as a consumer would welcome being advised of a problem in my home. Keep them coming!

Not true. I recently posted a pic of a safety valve done wrong. Turns out the safety valves brother is on boards and recognised him from the pic. I got in bother

Ah sure he was only letting off steam!

You wouldn't want to mess with the valve brothers especially the safety side of the family...

It's the T and P crowd I'd be watching out for. They can really let loose if they get too hot and bothered. .

Ok.. I'll get my coat and see myself out.

Why didn't they make the casing out of the same material as the name tag?
It's still in perfect condition ;)

A chimney off an ACV oil boiler in a scout hall. They then built a store room around it for canoes and tents. And also left a sheet of plywood against !!!

They thought the hole/gap in the far wall was good enough for ventilation and fumes to escape.

They didn't even try to compensate with a bit of chrome copper.

Or at the very least, box over it and paint the box..
It is astounding the level of shoddy work that some people will accept.

2 in the bush is safer than 4 in a boiler.
Unusual as it was a straight 20' SS chimney.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,404 ✭✭✭corkgsxr

Awkward 4" run? No problem just add a flexy

I remember all those adverts on the side of vans 'train to be a water meter installer, 'earn €€€€€€'. I guess this is the result.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,526 ✭✭✭JohnnieK

I wonder why they couldn't dig down further in the original position.
