I think I read before that ~70% of motorbike accidents involve other vehicles...so yeah, let's ban other vehicles. :pac:

I think it's 50%. But that's probably because bikers get used to cnuts pulling out in front of them and start driving defensively

I was a motorbike courier in London in the 80's. My nearest near-death experiences were doing that job, but it was also the most exciting time of my life. When you have experienced the shear joy of a powerful motorbike between your legs and hitting the M25 at a 100mph with the wind in your hair and the cops chasing...

Only sex is as much fun and that too can be just as dangerous. You want to ban that as well?

Often travelling at close to 100 mph, zig zagging between traffic, no seatbelt, very difficult for car drivers to see them, no airbags or crumple zones to protect them.

    What could possibly go wrong?

No, they've moved on to the thread about why americans don't need so many guns.

After that it'll be why we should ban lawn mowers in Ireland.

Also why do we have cars that can go over the speed limit? They should be limited to 90kph.

Why would anyone need to go any faster? Its illegal after all.

Motorbikes are class!! I can't drive one on my own but my brother has two, and they're so much fun!! One of his is for going through fields and over bumps and all. It's a fantastic feeling, the speed, the noise, the wind going through you. I'd love to be able to drive one myself

I'm not even going to read the thread. Motorcycles aren't actually as dangerous as you think , other road users causing harm to motorcycle drivers by lack of concentration/concern is the major danger to motorcyclists.

I've had a couple of motorcycles in the past and loved them, I'll have another one day.

Best piece of advice I've ever gotten regarding road use was the first thing my bike instructor said to me.

' When your on the road, always watch what the other road users are doing , when you come to any situation think what is the stupidist/most dangerous thing you expect that car to do...then expect them to do exactly that and react beforehand'

I swear that saved my life more than once.

They're absolute deathtraps, and unlike cars, lorries etc they've no use for the economy.

And don't start on the "freedom" thing, there's a million and one other lethal activities that are banned.

Where's Face Kicker when you need him?

I hope you never need blood and have to wait for a car stuck in traffic with some.

Good point, motorcyclists make excellent donors.

    Very true.

Back when i still had a bike both of the spills i had were caused by other people. The first was some auld one slapping on her brakes in front of me for no reason on a miserable wet day meaning i had to brake hard going over one of those shiny bitumen patches you see on the road. The bike started fishtailing and down i went. She didn't stop at all and it was a trucker coming the other way who actually helped me get up and out from under the bike which had pinned me to the road.

The other was some bog-goblin farmer literally just pulling out at a junction i was going past and hitting me side on. The bike had about €3500 worth of damage done to it and i was in bits but he offered me €100 on the spot to "get it fixed up". Went through the insurance in the end and he was found completely liable so he gave me a lovely phone call afterwards telling me i was nothing but a ****.

A friend of mine got reversed into in traffic the other day when she was out on her bike because the person in the car "didn't realise it was in reverse".

    Thats a bugger alright.
I hate it when people don't leave enough room in front of themselves and crash into my nice car. Especially when the conditions would dictate a larger than normal gap is required. But you cant do anything about stupid people on the road I guess.

Moses had a motorbike - It says in the bible that "You could hear the roar of Moses' Triumph".

They are mentioned in the Bible too!
    Moses rose in Triumph

God also has his preferred motorbike:

"The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but Victory belongs to the Lord." (Proverbs 21:31)
