They're absolute deathtraps, and unlike cars, lorries etc they've no use for the economy.

And don't start on the "freedom" thing, there's a million and one other lethal activities that are banned.

Because Jesus loves them more than he loves people. Mad for the Harleys so he is.

So how is a car used to carry someone to and from their home to their workplace more economically viable than the equivalent motorcycle. The motorcycle has less negative environmental and economic impacts too.

Name a million other things that are banned so.

UFC is dangerous too but looking at your post history I'm sure you wouldn't call for it to be banned

That car is protected by hard steel, seatbelts, airbags, etc.

What does a motorbike offer? A helmet? and that's not even part of the bike.

Why isn't walking banned? The amount of people that fall over and kill themselves every year. Legs go all out and ban standing up.

There's never been a fatality or a serious accident in the UFC.

    Motorbikes, on the other hand.....

A lot of the other "million and one" activities shouldn't be banned. We're already banning enough stupid shíte, leave the motorcyclists be.

I hope you never need blood and have to wait for a car stuck in traffic with some.

What about bike rallies? Motorcycle shops? Parts? Gear? Mechanics?

I reckon Jesus would ride a Ducati - idealistic but with an uncomfortable position, divisive opinions and a tenancy to get you in trouble.

I/You said UFC which has proper safety protocols in place, not MMA in general.

Give your missus a break and throw your leg over a bike for a change and you won't have to ask stupid questions.

Let's see; a motorbike can bring a paramedic or a Garda through a traffic jam quicker than a Bugati Veyron. Motorbikes take up less road space than single occupancy cars. Historically motorbikes became affordable a lot quicker than cars as a means of motorised transport; who doesn't remember the Honda fifty for example. Motorbikes had off road capabilities long before cars with off road capabilities were developed. The list goes on....

They aren't death traps......they are safe as long as other road users aren't pulling out in front of them.

People fall out of bed at an alarming rate as well,so that'll have to go.

Motorbikes are the best thing....nothing beats a road trip on a motorbike. You would need to be a right fckin Ninny to want to ban them.
Sure you may as well ban stairs for all the sense that makes.

I meant MMA contests in general, but anyway, banning motorbikes is a silly idea.

You say they're of no use to the economy but they are. Couriers and delivery services use them.. and I'm sure manufacturers and dealerships see some value in them too!

I have a 1962 BSA Bantam and a tankful lasts me 4 months, what car can do anything near that?

So you've dropped your economic argument then.

Motorcycles are are indeed inherently offer far less protection to their riders than cars. Most regular riders wear protective equipment: a helmet (legal requirement), leathers with joint and back protection, special boots and gloves.

Conversely, cars, lorries, etc are far more hazardous to other road users. Motorcycles tend not to cause harm to third parties and only minor damage to other vehicles. Cars, lorries, etc are a large percentage of the reason why motorcycling is dangerous.

I've ridden motorcycles in countries where they're the primary form of transport and despite what non-riders would view as chaos it's actually a pretty safe environment where everyone rides responsibly and looks out for one other. Best of all it's much easier to get around.

I don't see the problem if someone wants to get on a bike and kill themselves then so what enough of the nanny state.
